Got this bruiser today. Sucker hitched a ride from Crocked Wash mind you. Trashed the camper, got in the TP, ripped into the furnace ducts, ripped up some kitchen towels, crapped all over the place. Died biting the trap. Talked with the wife about doing a shoulder mount. She was less than impressed with the idea. See what she thinks about the mystery meat for tonight's dinner.

I hate packrats. Let me find a pic of our booner. I thought it was a damn kangaroo.:oops:They will trash the place and it only takes a minute.

Found it. He was a mouthful for Gus.:)

Everytime I go to Colorado--I bring mouse traps for those little bastards. But that definitely is a B&C rat!

Still have traps set. No idea where it got in. Kids used the camper this weekend and said it sounded like an Animal House party going on at night. Got up in the morning and that suckered had crap strung all over the place they said. They definately make a mess in short time.

Very observant Homer. This big wuss, me, has no desire to touch that rat when tools are available to aid in the job. Lmao

That's a good dog Bluehair. ?

I don’t put out traps for them anymore because they carry them off. Best trap is a 5-gallon bucket half full of water, with a board layed across the top for a diving board.

I killed ALL of them around my place in about 2 weeks.(y)

I found a couple of real interesting artifacts in one that is in the mouth of a cave. Private land of course.

let us see your mouse trap I use a 5 gallon bucket for wasps we tie a string off the handle put it in the up position and tie a piece of hot dog to it. The wasps come and eat so much they fall into the water and can't get out. On one trip we had about a 4" layer of wasps in the water.

I call them wood rats but I think it's Norway rats that nest in my wood shed every winter. I set traps and catch one and then they avoid the traps. I have to wait about a month and set the traps again. I catch another one and then have to wait again.

I fed them rat poison and no matter how much rat poison I put out, it disappears but the rats are still there. I must have gone through 5 pounds of rat poison.

I have wood rats. The end.

Bait them into the open grab a beer or smoke as the case may be and a .22 or pellet gun if needed and hunt the little bas--ards
In California there may be a law against it LOL but what the hell take em out Eel
Post pictures after

Eel have you tried the sticky pads they are my favorite I find their path of escape and put those all around the area. I have caught a few and they can't run with that pad stuck on them then I take my Hatfield knife out and stick them.
It's like your own trap line LOL

Yes I have. All I ever caught was a bird. It was pretty sad as I tried to free it but eventually had to kill it. I still feel bad about that. It was a Titmouse.

That damn rat ate my last banana before we headed out for the wife's buck hunt...ruined the day entirely. Thankfully the wife shot her buck an hour later next to the road.
