Antler Shot Off?

I went and picked up my camera yesterday. I had this buck on camera and he already had a messed up rack but now he’s missing his fork on his right side. Does it look like his antler was shot off with a rifle to you? A little early to be prerutting I would think. Curious on your thoughts.

Tough to say but very well could have. The unit he is in, has there already been a rifle season.

Almost looks like his G4 has a chuck out of it also. Very well could’ve been a bullet.
I once watched my buddy drop a buck during our muzzleloader season. Watching in the binos the deers body rippled and he dropped. We walked up to find no buck. Searching around about 10 yards away my buddy found the back fork from the buck shot off!

A friend of mine had his son out in Pa rifle season. The son shots a mid size buck. They walk up to it and can see he shot the right side antler off. He must have knocked it out. Before he could react to what they saw the buck comes to and takes off.
Surprise surprise. They never saw that buck again. They did have most of his right antler
