Where is the best place to go to get away from people,see beutiful terrain and possibly have a chance at a decent buck ?

Virtually every unit in the state has what you described. My experience in the state revolves around Boise and the units surrounding it. You didn't say what part of the state you are interested in. What type of hunting, ie, archery, muzzle, rifle. As a rule during the general seasons, to see a decent buck you need to move away from people. That means horses or packing, or hiking in an honest 2 miles from the road. There are very few flat places to hunt here, but if you don't mind working a little you could find a decent buck in almost any unit. Having said that, the Boulder, WhiteCloud, and Sawtooth mountain ranges have everything your looking for. Most people will hunt within a mile of the road. Are you out of state?
