Moose yet again for dinner. Pot roast, twice baked potatoes. Spoiler alert, moose tomorrow and likely the next 3 days ?

My Grandma made Moose roast and then made sandwiches out of sweet rolls and Moose Roast.. That just made me drool.

I've had moose only a couple times. The first was in the '80 when I was at a flyin fishing camp in the Yukon. The camp owner was married to a native, and she canned a lot of the moose meat. We ate it in stew only.

The next time was after I killed my own moose when we were already down to very few staples in a spike camp because of the weather. We took the flap meat from a rear leg, stretched it taut with willow sticks and stood it up next to a roaring fire. Put a frying pan underneath to catch the drippings that were then used to cook taters. We did the same the next night with a couple of ribs.
