49ers and Jimmy G

Well I am a huge football fan. Can't stand the wokeness of the NFL at times but I can't help myself watching my niners. I think Jimmy G is a good quarterback and is underappreciated. Shanahan is 24 and 9 with garoppolo and 7 and 24 without him. Yet he wants to trade garoppolo as he's currently leading them to the playoffs to clear the way for an unproved rookie quarterback in Trey Lance, who in my opinion will be a bust. Shanahan is a play design genius but completely clueless when it comes to personnel decisions, game situation decisions, clock management, and add to that he does not perform well under pressure and has blown two huge super bowl leads. Maybe the 49ers should think about trading shanahan before they get rid of Jimmy g.

G can't handler pressure. Doesn't matter if they go undefeated. The last game always count the most and he can't handle it. What's the word I'm looking for...choke? Also, he has to play like he hates the other team and their mothers. Can't win if you don't have that drive...

I think Shanahan can't handle the pressure more so than anyone else. Blew the biggest lead in super bowl history when he is the offensive coordinator with the falcons and then blew the lead again with the niners. Gets too conservative gets too tight and plays not to lose, he doesn't play to win.

I quit watching NFL a couple of years ago. Not because I think I am changing the world, but because I don't like being told I am part of the problem of a racist system that they are forced to be in while they make 100 times more money than I do. Plus watching 2.5 hours of commercials so I can see 1.5 hours of game while after each play I have to watch some show off performance by an ego maniac. There's to much bull5hit for very little enjoyment anymore. I don't think they are going out of business by loosing me and I don't care. My time is more valuable than their performance so I do other stuff. Going and watching kids play sports is 100 times more exhilarating than watching NFL or NBA or MLB.

Pound on your chest too for extra effect. And, you can take in all sports from grade school to professional and not be part of a racist system. A far as money. So what? Pros that get paid are the best in the world. Small percentile of people. Paid accordingly. Some $hit just is funny. mtmuley

You missed the money connection. I am a capitalist. I don't care if people make more money than me. I find it pathetic when someone wants to preach at me about oppression, Even their own oppression, while making 100 times what an average American makes.

It's like Rosie O'Donnell bitching at Somalis for eating too much.

Well, good on you. And all the rest that don't watch football. You and them will make as big an impact on the world as the athletes that rebel. I got football to watch. mtmuley

I actually stopped watching sports a long time ago. I’ll still watch hockey on weeknights sometimes but what a waste of a weekend watching a bunch of self righteous douche bags run around a field. Only thing more pathetic is the super fans that think there somehow involved..,

My question was somewhat authentic though. I can remover s time when the nfl snd nba were all but inescapable.remember Jordan? Now it seems there not that big.

I am/was a lifelong 49er Faithful fan for 42 years, but once Jed decided to fly the BLM flag at Levi's Stadium that was it for me and my family. Along with the players wearing criminals names on the back of their helmets, cleats, jerseys, ect. "We don't support domestic terrorism and violence," but I guess the sports leagues do.

I know, I know, the leagues don't care if I watch anymore and why would they plenty of people still do. But around Christmas every year I would take my wife and 2 kids to a 49ers game from Oregon. The trip was around $3K, and supported the local Santa Clara economy. The 49ers may not care, but they sure find ways to contact me asking if I would like to buy tickets, and the local hotels seem to email often as well. Hmmmm funny since they don't care about my business???

The NBA is for sure worse as their ratings are really bad. To say they don't care is not knowing reality! They are begging people to watch again. One thing that might help them is when Le-China retires.

We like to go to one game a year. Same thing, spend a wad of cash and act like an ugly American. It’s fun to see how other people live.

The coolest thing about the donkos is the Thunderstorm.

The problem with Jimmy G is inconsistency, one series he looks like Joe Montana and the next series he looks like Alex Smith in his rookie season.

Oh, by the way, my new favorite pro athlete is Enos Canter Freedom

Yes I agree, he needs to be more consistent.

G isn't a great Quarterback. He is ok and the team is always aggressive which carries them through alot of games. Vote for him if you want but he never impressed me.

They are simply wanting to trade him for upcoming salary cap issues. Before season they tried to deal him away but his stock was low and there wasn’t a demand out there. They would like to get a second round pick for him. They showcased him this year in attempts to get his stock up as NFL QBs get hurt mid season and the needs for a good QB rises as the year goes on.

If they could have gotten a second round for him at the start of season he would have been gone before the season.

Jimmy is a good manager if a team that has other offensive talent. But he is not going to carry a team along. Plus he is injury prone.

If some team comes calling for him and Lynch likes what they offer for him….he gone

In the meantime the Cardinals just keep rollin' along....

Those dudes taking a knee is 'preaching' to you?? :ROFLMAO:

Well Crapoppolo let his teammates and fans down again last night.. You know everybody has a bad game every once in a while. But some of those throws weren’t even close. He cost them the game with his arm. He can’t even blame it on the weather or nothing.. ?

He had a very rough game and the loss is squarely on his shoulders alone. Still can't stand Shannon though. You have two timeouts left you just got a first down on about the 40. 19 seconds until halftime. Why on Earth would you not try to get 20 more yards and kick a field goal. He plays not to lose he doesn't play to win, big reason they lost the super bowl. He claims he didn't want to turn the ball over that shows he doesn't trust Jimmy G. However, that is not a Jimmy G problem that's a Kyle Shanahan problem. Let him go and if he messes up he messes up but quit playing to not lose and being scared.

Shanahan is horrible at clock management and playing not to lose. It already cost him a Super Bowl and now maybe a playoff spot this year.

Jimmy G was horrible. His 2 picks were a 14 point swing. Plus his airmail to a wide open Kyle J was complete garbage.

Jimmy G reminds me of Alex Smith. He's good enough to keep a starting spot in the NFL, but he'll never be a Franchise Quarterback... he's a "game manager" that has a few moments of brilliance.

Garoppolo is better than smith in my opinion. Check the stats. He has carried the team to multiple victories on his arm alone. Trey is Kaepernick 2.0. He will come in and do ok, then teams will figure him out and he is done. They will wish they still had Jimmy G. Mark my words.

Agree with everything but the last paragraph.

There was a game the other night? Sounds like the 9ers lost and Jimmy. G didn't play so well? Maybe the 49ers should take down the racist "BLM" flag flying at Levi's Stadium so they don't have bad luck and karma????

Thanks "Jed"

Due to Covid, the NFL playoffs and World Series are cancelled. Looking forward to the 2022 season.

It was a tough 4th quarter to watch for 49er fans....just couldn't slam the door on the Cowboys

The 49ers went into the 'prevent defense' and it almost prevented them from winning.
Shanahan not only plays the "prevent defense," he also plays the "prevent offense."

The idea is to stop moving the ball and only try and move the clock. He turns into a 3-&-Out Machine every time he has the lead and then hopes his defense can get the ball back. But, of course, he also has his defense play a soft zone and leave the sidelines uncovered.

Good teams exploit it all the time. It cost them a Super Bowl, it cost them the last time they played the Packers, and it almost cost them yesterday.

I’m not so attached to the Cowboys to cry over them losing but that top picture describes my “are you F-n kidding me”thoughts perfectly.

Could not agree more! He just doesn't seem to learn.

Ever notice when it’s 4th & 2 and Tampa puts in the punt team , Brady is pissed. He wants to go for it, cause he believes he can make it.
4th & 2 and the punt team is coming in for the niners….Jimmy looks relieved. Thankful he won’t have to perform under pressure.

The Niners>Rams and Rams>Cardinals games show the importance of a defensive line in setting the tone.

Niners need to set up camp in the Packers backfield and keep Aaron uncomfortable to beat them.
Better hope Bosa clears concussion protocol.

Not true, Jimmy and the players want to go for it, Shanahan doesn't.

They got past the Cowboys thanks to McCarthy. I see an ass beating coming in Green Bay. Aaron Rodgers is on a mission. Win the SB, and he owns the team management. Or he says F you and walks away. Win Win. mtmuley

Rodgers and Adams will rip them. mtmuley
Time will tell. They could, but I doubt it. Green Bay is more of a finesse team. 49ers will cram it down your throat and punch you in the mouth. If Garoppolo has a horrible game it will be a blowout, but if he can play well the rest of the team is too good and it will be close. If Garoppolo has a rating of over 100 niners will win. His season average was about 98.7. So if he can play a little better than average we will win.

Not judging but how old are you? Green Bay has owned the niners forever.

41, how about you? Well I may not know a lot about some things but when it comes to football I am pretty knowledgeable. I didn't say niners own Green Bay. I said niners own Rodgers in the playoffs. Check the stats. Rodgers is 0 and three. That's right he's never beat them in the playoffs, and last time they annihilated him. How old are you? We're not talking about 1967 when the Packers won their first super bowl we're talking about lately, during Rodgers reign. Rodgers is one of the greatest regular season quarterbacks of all time. However, he's got Peyton Manning syndrome in the playoffs and chokes. Jimmy Garoppolo has got as many NFC championships as Rodgers. Brady has played one full season in the NFC and has just as many.

Jimmy got lucky so many times tonight though- so many times. Special teams won it.

A WIN IS A WIN! Whether Dallas helped, or the refs, or the Cowboys and Packers "Coulda, shoulda, woulda"- Special teams won it, kicking game won it, bad coaching decisions lost it- The 9ers are still ALIVE in the playoffs after 2 games against quality or NFL elite teams! (y)

I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan, took a break for a couple years, but just had to find something to break myself from the reality of life.

I've been watching quite a few games this year. I just got tired of being mad for no other reason to be mad.

Both games yesterday were quite interesting. Actually had me excited.

Pretty cool when a team can lock in the win at the last seconds with a kicker.

Good stuff.

I think the 9er fairy dust will be gone next week. As much as I like to see Rodgers lose, San Fran got really lucky. mtmuley

I'm glad you said that............ :)
The 9ers did not score an offensive touch down against GB. That won't work against LA. Garroppolo did everything but beg GB to win. Glad you are so confident. Even if they pull off a miracle, I bet the Chiefs will be waiting. mtmuley

Both the Chiefs and the Rams just lost to the Bengal's and Niners respectively. Just saying. The Rams lost the last 2 games to the Niners.
