How wide?

If you had to guess, how wide do you think this buck is? This was from January in Arizona. I took “the shot” with my camera instead of my bow because when I first saw him, he had the sun behind him and he didn’t look big. This photo is from 104 yards away. I did not know he was a double main beam until I looked back at the photo ??‍

...anyways, I think this buck is 25-26” but a couple friends of mine think it’s closer to 27-28”...what’s your thought?

I think he is wide enough to have arrowed him then measured him on the ground so we would all know. I think he is 25-26, probably closer to 26.

There isn’t a tree behind him, that’s a 2nd beam. The tree in the background on the left was like 10-15 yards behind where he was standing.

Thanks all for the opinions. I don’t think he’s a giant or nothing, just a cool looking buck. I would be happy to wrap my tag around him any day.

I wouldn’t be surprised if he was 28” wide but I think 26” is a safer estimate to avoid ground shrinkage.

By the look of his face and ears, I’d say he’s young so the width compared to the ears could be deceiving. I’m not sure he would hit 25” but he’s probably close.

I bet they score pretty similar because of the giant brow, and Xtra beam on the live buck.
