Well we all know what we talk about around the campfire...lol...just curious how often you guys actually sit around one?? Fire is hands down one of my favorite things on earth, imo there's not much better than tipping back a cold beer while staring into some flames.

I burn quite a bit of wood each year, at home and at the cabin. Winter time there's a fire going at all times at my house, this tall skinny white boy don't like to be cold!! At the cabin pretty much the only times of year I don't have one going is during the hunts because by the time it gets dark out I'm usually too beat to light one lol. Anyways how often do ya'll burn??

Unfortunately, only 1 week a year-

My North Fork fishing trip...and that's only 4 nights.

All my hunting trips are solo backpacking, and I don't have a fire.

I love them until someone gets too drunk, and falls in! Usually me.

Honestly love the smell of my campfire clothes when I get home to do laundry!

Once the cold hits we have a fire all the time. We have the traditional fire place and it does go through a ton more wood but we feel the abiance (sp) is well worth it.

up anyway."

This picture was taken about 10 hours after my buddy tripped and fell into a campfire. I drove him to a hospital in the Basin area and then off to the U of U burn center.

A nice fire can be one of the most relaxing things to enjoy. Keep on eye on your kids bothe little and in this case big, :)

I try to sit by a fire once a week either at home or in the mountains.

I don't do it as often as I would like, but there's nothing like a campfire to either start or end the day. Those flames are sure relaxing and soothing.

Nuttin' better than a campfire. This is one of our Bookcliff campfires. We sit around a campfire in the Bookcliffs as much as possible in the fall. We'll be doing a lot of fires here at home this fall too. LOVE a good fire!

At least a couple times a year and always at elk camp. I remember just a few years back forgetting my semi new Lowa's
sitting on the rocks forming the pit around the fire before I went to the tent way to late. Rick I know you are reading this and having a good laugh.

Backpacking with friends a few years back..

Damn straight! What was left of one anyway. You know I'm the best chupacabra killer around, don't you? LOL

My son and I sit around several campfires each year....often long into the night.

Almost NEVER during hunting season. Hunting starts too early and ends too late to forgo sleep for the sake of a fire. About the only hunting fires are mid-day when it's very cold/wet or if tags are filled and we've got another night.

Within the shadows, go quietly.

+1 gb22. Love outdoor fires, and fireplace fires but haven't had one for years in our hunting camps. Leave too early, come in late and exhausted. By the time we get some chow everybody in the sack. We need to lighten up a little!

This thread is 10 years old...... I’ve learned how, the last ten years blue but I much prefer the “too exhausted to relax times. Far, far too much relaxing these days.

Are you making Damascus out of those culverts. That’s a campfire chat I could get interested in.

In the weather we’ve hunted in, too often doesn’t fit the camp fire atmosphere. When your butt’s too cold to tolerate the blaze in your face and your charred boots, it’s more enjoyable to talk in your sleep, than it is to squirm in your chair.

Wizard has some idea what I mean.

The best campfires are the ones built when you don’t need the fire, you need to feed the soul. ?

Now if I had me a big crusher disk.......... I’d invite eel over to take the chill off.....???
Lump, you need to learn to relax.View attachment 63445

Only if they stare in each other's eyes while facing each other & peeing.
No, remember that’s just with not gay hunters. You said with a gay hunter you make sure to turn away to pee. Implications there are all other non gay urinating is conducted face to face with your non gay hunting buddy. With your vast years of experience I’m sure not one to question the back country urinating etiquette you’ve mastered

These Solo stoves make great fire pits and produce a lot less smoke than a fire pit.
