Hernia surgery

You would never think how much your ab muscles are involved during recovery.

The pain is crazy for about a week

Get a recliner with power as getting up and out of bed is pure misery!

Other than that, a peice of cake.....

Don’t laugh, cough, sneeze, or do pretty much anything for a while. Oh, and slip on shoes only.

I have no idea how a woman survives a c-section.

I have no personal experience, but I heard triple bypass heart surgery is less painful with less recovery time.

It probably depends on the size of hernia and location. I had one done two years ago and was back to the gym doing light lifts after a week. Mine was small and below my belly button. Hurt and was tough to move for a few days, but after that seemed to heal quickly.

Outpatient surgery, piece of cake. Was home walking around the yard by noon. Some of these guys must have had theirs done by a sheep herder on the mountain while hunting with a whiskey sedative. Cowboy up, it aint that bad

Mine are above the navel. Not big ones and the fat (seriously) is in the way so no important items bulging out. Dr appt is Friday. My stomach after eating is so painful unless I have smaller meals and when I sit I can't breathe in as well.

Right side inquinal back in college. Hurt like hell standing straight up for a while...and sneezing, coughing, $hitting, etc. Was outpatient surgery, but spent alot of time on the couch the next week or so

I never had hernia surgery but my father did years ago when he was in his 70's. He had it done as an out patient. Mom and I took him home after and he was doing fine. Doctor told him to take it easy for a week and don't drive.

Two days later, I called and mom said he was out shopping. I said he was told not to drive. She said, he said he felt fine and he also was working in the Garden too that morning.

Had a double hernia fixed a year ago. Day surgery . Laid low for a couple of days and was back to work on my fourth day. Not a big deal. Just have to be careful for a little while. You'll do fine.

My wife also had 2 C sections. Never really seemed to bother her. She's a tough egg to crack. I had hernia surgery as an outpatient about 15 years ago. Didn't seem like a big deal. Don't remember any pain or problems. Took it easy for a week or so but it never bothered me.

Was hoping I could somehow get some of that mesh settlement money from the ads on TV, but since I never had any problems looks like I'd better win the lottery instead.

Gives a whole new meaning to Blue Balls, it feels like someone reached up inside of you and pulled on your nuts HARD
otherwise not bad at all LOL

Had outpatient laposcopic surgery for 3 hernias, was painful for 4-5 days then every day was significantly better. In 2 weeks back to 100%. Did wish I had a stripper pole beside my easy chair to help me get up.

Short story...after surgery they want you to pee, couldn't pee even after several cups of coffee and water. So sent me home and told if I haven't peed by 6pm or so to go to emergency room. Ended up in emergency room, got a catheter, went back next am and removed. In the CYA 10 pages of info there was a statement that stated if you received a catheter there may be some bruising. Brusing my as##, my whole jim-dog turned black....LOL.

They wouldn’t let me check out until I pee’d, and it took a while for my spinal to wear off so I ended up staying the night.

Sadly, the catheter was the least painful part.

Some of you guys are tough hombre’s. I see now why that ball-stompin porn that Ive heard of :rolleyes:isn’t fatal.
