Colorado Deer points

This gets old.

Or someone is just stirring the pot now that hunting season is over.

If legit, to be be succinct: intelligent questions get intelligent answers. This is not a thought out, intelligent question.

There you go. Go to the “drawn out at” section.

DEC… This is a great place for info! I’d also invest $100 and buy a membership to epic outdoors or some other service where you can call and get real well thought out advice from people who have some serious knowledge of the units you could draw. That’s what my friend and I did and it ended up with us killing a giant and a good buck two years ago.

Not sure what's up. Just making conversation. I've drawn on cpw for the last 30 years hunting for dear and elk.

Open to any unit. Done research. Have lots of units that are good. Just asking what others thought

Maybe list what units you are thinking about and what seasons you are wanting to hunt. I have never hunted an 11 point unit so I’m not much help in that regard.

I appreciate your input whether you are a lot of help or not. At least it's a nice conversation

I have been there! I have benefited a ton from others service! This year happened because a friend reached out and shared with me some great input. I hope you get the same!

I know the plains can be a bit of a bugger due to pvt land issues but it's worth a closer look. They kill some smasher deer out there every year in some units.

I've been up around Fort Collins and East. Are you talking that far north

Move on past Unit 3. 2 would be a quality experience hunt.

There are other plains areas too. Do a little digging into the CPW website shared and you'll see it.

Take a look at at eastern plains outfitters websites. It will give you a clue on what tailchasers mentioned. There’s a reason why most of the best eastern plains outfitters have long waiting lists.

The quality of bucks in every Western Colo unit is destined to dramatically drop every year that the later season rifle dates are in place while eastern plains units will likely remain unchanged. I would use your pts ASAP!

Actually been looking at unit 3 or unit 2
See, there is an intelligent question, and you got an answer. Your first question is kind of like the guy who didn't study for the math test who asks for the answers 5 min before the test. And if I give you the answers, you might win the "math prize" I was hoping to win.

So here is an actual answer: I second that eastern plains can give you a shot at a good buck, but you should also take a look at high country early (Sept) rifle hunts

I will look for sure. Thank you

Have never looked east into the plains. Always thought it was only private land owner maybe a little blm

Very few public options in the Eastern Plains but there are a few. Also, you better have deep pockets for an outfitter hunt.

I would also agree to look into the Plains. 2 issues that were mentioned, minimal public land options, and if you want to spend the money to go outfitted, a lot of those outfits with the most/best ground are booked years in advance for rifle. That said, always worth the phone call. I used my 5 Colorado points in 2020 on a outfitted plains hunt.......and I will be going back.

Also, you have 11 points which is great...so you have plenty of options across the state.

Thank you. Any outfitters you recommend

Unit 3 second season is where I would go… stay at the drifters in Baggs and hunt Divide!! Such an over looked honey hole!
