Maybe the best Pro Football weekend ever!

I agree and the NFL needed this weekend, what a bunch of great games. Should have known it was not over when the Bills got that last TD. 13 seconds left was to much.

I told my wife as soon as they scored, there is too much time, KC has all of its timeouts. Wish the bills had gotten one more shot!

Great weekend for football though!

Can we all agree that the NFL OT rules are the dumbest rules in all of sports?
We could have the kickers try to make 5 in a row, a la NHL. What would you propose, time?

The NFL has too many other subjective rules that impact the outcome of the game that need to be addressed first. So no, I guess I don’t agree.:ROFLMAO:

Not to take away from the best weekend of football I can remember.

Have them play a regular but shorter overtime period with the clock. Letting only one team touch the ball is ludicrous, often causing it to come down to the winner of the coin toss.

They could also implement other stuff, like limiting it to only ONE field goal & going for two after a TD in that period.

first football game i've watched in 6 years was the chiefs game yesterday. father in laws birthday so he got the remote. it was actually pretty entertaining. until i saw the "advanced social justice" painted in the end zone. then i remembered why i turned it off 6 years ago and never turned it back on. too bad. looks like some great young talent in the league right now. ill check back in a decade

How about college OT rules.

There have been ten OT Playoff games since 2011. Nine of them have been won by the team that received the ball first.

In other words, 90% of the time the game was decided by a coin flip.

If we're going to leave it to a coin flip, let's not even play the OT. Let's just have the ref say, "The four quarters have ended. We'll now flip a coin, if it's heads the home team wins, if it's tails the visiting team wins."

Obviously that's a stupid idea, but effectively what we have right now.

College would probably be too simple for the pro teams, but something similar with adjustments for the improved skill set would work.

Don't bother. Cracks me up some of the reasons people don't watch. I enjoyed all four games. It was great. mtmuley

Inasmuchas the NFL exists for television, I would think the ringmasters would like something with a predictable schedule. God help them if they get a Donkos/Jags game that goes for 2 days before ending 6 to 3. And the 8 fan hissy fits because they cut away.

I‘ma follow the money for my guess to see what happens.

I heard somebody once propose a timed OT period. If it's still tied after that period has elapsed, they flip a coin and the winner of the flip gets to decide which team's kicker attempts a 60yd field goal.

If the kicker makes it, that team wins; if the kicker misses it, they lose.

If you can’t hold the opposing team from scoring for a whole 13 seconds, maybe you deserve to lose.
Good point.

I'd still prefer see a timed OT without the weird scoring contingencies like: if you hit a field goal in OT the other team gets a chance but if you score a TD first... you automatically win.
A first OT of 8 or 10 minutes... if it's still tied go to 2nd OT of 4 or 5 minutes. MLB & NBA play until one team wins via extra innings or timed OT periods, but NFL gets weird

The visitor calls the coin toss. Wonder how many times the home team won in those 10 games.

The coin is rigged.

How bout those Chiefs!!!!!! ??

They went through the exact same OT scenario against the Patriots in the 2018 AFC championship. The Chiefs petitioned the league to change the OT rule and were denied by everyone including the Bill's. Props to Josh Allen, he is an exceptionally great QB!!

The Bill's are gonna be a battle we need to face and defeat for years to come. I think the AFC is the tougher division - Mahomes, Allen, Burrow, Mac, Carr..

Who would have thought :13 would be too much time........?

In a playoff game I think they need to go to another 15 minute quarter until someone wins. Just like a baseball might go 15 innings. The Bills got @#$#&” by the current OT rules. That was just too good of a game to end like it did because of those OT rules.
