I've been buying Prois clothing. I mostly love them as the 1. Are very well made 2. Have frequent sales up to 60% off 3. the down vests are great 4. camo pattern is great

One item I did NOT like were gloves. I bought large and they are definitely way too tight to be useful except for driving perhaps.

I'm a 5'5" 135lb woman size 8-10 usually. Some clothes I had to get in L regardless, others fit as expected. Overall a great line rivaling Sitka quality.

What brands do the other gals in the forum use?

I've read your stuff, and I like that you are just doing it, because you want to. Its great. Congrats.

There are a couple camps on the men's side.

1. Run all the designer outfits, everything matches, and they talk about "systems" a lot.

2. Dudes that won't drop $1000 for a shirt and pants.

Hundreds of thousands of western hunters. Very few are actually back country dudes. The vast majority are day hunters, or hike in/ride in hunters, and road hunters. So the vet high end, technical "systems" are more fashion show than any thing.

On the men's side, we have a lot of "second tier" choices. Kings probably being the most notable.

But honestly, most dudes don't run matching outfits. I personally don't own any matching camo, and for sure no matching brands of anything.

A lot of dudes use work clothes, like Carhartt, Dickies, Wolverine, as well in their get ups.

Gearing up, is expensive. But your rifle shoots further than a deer can see, so outfits aren't that important. Lots of good animals hit the ground to dudes in wranglers, and flannel. So my advice, is to find non hunting, well made garments, and try them, often they are every bit as good, and much cheaper

As to gloves. There is not, not has there ever been a perfect glove. Good luck on that one

I'm getting camo as I also use a compound bow. Yesterday I was using the clothing in outfit above with SNOWSHOES to hike and I literally froze in place when about 5 muleys were no more than 40 yards max from me. They froze also then started scratching fleas and chewing on themselves ignoring me. So as long as I didn't move they looked curious but not alarmed in the least. Maybe they thought I was crazy being in the middle of a remote snowtrail at dusk :)

Deer will smell you and hear you long before they see you.

I'm not saying that good clothes aren't nice I'm saying that camo hunting clothes aren't a necessity.

Which, notice the trend now is tan and grey solids.

I'm imagining women's hunting clothes aren't as plentiful, so your options to do otherwise are limited.

And yes, you were crazy?

Hi :) For reference I am 5’8” and size 5 in most jeans. For shed hunting I really love the girls with guns pants. They have adjustable length and the waist band has Velcro adjustments so you don’t have to wear a belt but can still carry because the inside of them has a spot for your gun. For camo I really love Kuiu. It’s a bit pricier but I always buy during their sales. I get a 30 in pants and then medium in their jackets and shirts. For gloves I honestly just got some nice waterproof ones from Costco recently because none of the women’s or men’s hunting gloves ever seem to fit me right either! I hope some of this helped ?

Nice to have a gal onboard in this forum, welcome!

Camo is not as important as function. I wear Sitka because I can start hiking in the 30s and within 5 hours it’s in the 80s still wearing the same gear. Colder weather I wear the heavier stuff. I’m never disappointed spending the money when my gear is light and warm.
