Wolves killing again….

What's with blurring out the video of the blood and guts of the injured and dead cows? The cattlemen need to start showing some videos and photos of wounded cows walking around with their guts hanging out or wolves eating a calf alive. Oh I forgot, we can't do that because that would be offensive to the "educated and sophisticated" pro-wolf crowd - the people that know nothing about wildlife management, have no skin in the game and don't care about those that do.

are these cattle on BLM , state lease , or private land ?
the powers that be problems can’t help when natural recruits move in ?
I am not a fan of cattle range leasing by state and federal agencies

Did you see the veterinary board, polis appointee chirping about how the “lazy and nasty” ranchers are baiting wolves with their cattle?! Thank the good Lord she resigned. I guess a petition was put to old Polis but he said he wouldn’t force her out. I guess I shouldn’t be shocked by it but damn a large portion of CO’s residents seem like they are from another planet

This is no different than what’s going on in the cities with gangs. This has happened in every state with introductions of Wolves. I fought hard against introduction of Wolves in Idaho and watched all the players, then I started hunting them hard and killing them, watched the packs grow and targeted the Alpha Males, learned their behaviors and could find them in their travels in most months. Like all my Bear and Lion hunting with my dogs you gain a lot of respect for predators in the end only killing mature Toms, Boars and yes Alpha Males. The Wolves are truly an amazing animal and their survival skills are only second to human beings, maybe!. Look at Idaho now, full out war on on wolves with a 2500.00 bounty. Idaho must be full of pisspoor hunters. What really pisses me off this Farmer legislature allowing the flying of Wolves on the winter ranges or running them over with snowmobiles, hunting at night. So this Colorado Rancher can read hundreds of story’s about Wolves killing cattle in Idaho. The Feds have already told him he will be reimbursEd, I’m sure he’s been greeted by Defenders of Wildlife, I hope they don’t bring in that nasty old gal to protect them. This pack of Wolves lives in a pretty inaccessible place with a lot of Elk, I’m sure as this pack grows, Wolves will be killed across the Wyoming border, near 3- way or move into Rocky Mt National Park. You Guys and gals from Colorado are in for a long ride . I saw a picture of a Big Alpha Male killed across the border In Wyoming last weekend. Is this the same pack, could be? I hope you all enjoy your hunting and adventures in life and don’t get caught up in something for 20 years that bleeds of hatred and big money. It’s not the Wolves fault. I also don’t think Colorado will hunt Wolves.

The whole situation is a mess. Who knows if hunting will ever be a management tool for wolves in Co? The way things are now I kind of doubt it. The interesting thing about Co is the massive and I mean massive amount of use that public lands get. Year round 24/7. I grew up here and even 8 years ago you could escape crowds on the weekdays. That is becoming less and less common. People are out in the hills all the time. Putting an alpha predator in the state with this much recreational use will create, human/wolf conflict eventually. Then who knows what happens, wonder if the trailmix crunchy crowd will cry foul or if they think humans being eaten is acceptable?

Try hunting anywhere on the Eastern Front. Snow no snow. There are people hiking or riding bikes 24 hours a day.
Evidently night riding is a thing.
You can’t even hunt the first hour of light without people in the way.
How can the city of Boulder own 20,000 acres that are closed to the public and hunting?

Not really sure why this is a subject of conversation. if you have wolves they're going to kill whatever they choose to kill end of story. it's like talking about rain and how it gets things wet.

fair enough, chalk up my bitching to the fact that I’m a grumpy old man stuck in a 30 somethings body… gotta get used to the “new normal” I guess

I mean ..it's what Colorado wanted right? My father in law had zero clue other than wolves seemed cool and voted yes. I spent only 10 minutes explaining what wolves do and what conservation was about and he felt like an idiot voting yes. We as sportsmen lost on pr/messaging, and that's the result. Sucks but I stopped hunting in CO years ago, it's Cali 2.0. Say goodbye to the greatest elk population in the country.

Pretty excited to know Colorado will have wolves. Hell look at Wyoming with all their wolves. Residents can get 3 elk tags. But those dang wolves are going to eat all the elk! ???

It’s like comparing apples to turnips… if colorado had a population of a little over 500k and limited out of state hunting tags heck give us wolves and grizzlies and saber tooth tigers if you can create one… the issue is wolves on top of the near 6 million folks, not to mention the greedy CPW not limiting non resident tags. Something like 47k resident archery hunters and 51k+ non resident just for archery… haha that might be an issue
