Hello all,

am looking for some tss shells for a .410 for my son's upcoming turkey hunt. Have two boxes (all I could order online) and now cannot find any anywhere. Willing to pay for the ammo and shipping.

Try Brice at FoxTrot Ammo, they may have some loaded. Ask about the 383 Stroker loads. 574-598-8369

$8.50 a shell? Wow, they better be good.

It's crazy how expensive .410 ammo is. Even a box of factory federals is more expensive than 12g.

TSS is very expensive even to hand load. (If you can find all the components). Shot alone is $220 for 5 lbs. That’s over $4 just for the shot using 1.5 oz loads.

Thank you! Will do!

And yes, TSS is very expensive. My son drew a turkey hunt on a wildlife refuge in New Mexico, has to use non-toxic. TSS is really the only one I'd trust out of a .410. He does have the Stevens 301 turkey gun though, so it has the umph and can get it done. Just don't trust it with steel shot, doubt I could find that anyways right now.

My thoughts as well. Steel isn't the best shooting. I did see some bismuth, but have never shot it and it's 60 a box of 10. May end up trying them after I call the above mentioned gentleman tomorrow, if they do not have any.

Have you shot the gun, and does it shoot to point of aim, and pattern well with regular lead shot? Don't want to be sighting in with a bunch of expensive TSS either!

Yes, have shot the gun with regular lead. Did get two boxes of Federal TSS in 8's and shot three out of it with that (20,30 and 40 yards). Patterns well with the TSS better than lead. But, want to have extras just to be safe. I may have found a couple more boxes of the federal TSS, but in 9's.

I’ve witnessed first hand how lethal Foxtrot’s .410 TSS loads are. I hosted a friend from Alabama who shot a couple dozen turkeys (he hunted them in 13 states last year) with his ‘popgun’ .410 in 2021. He brought those shells out to waterfowl hunt with me last December in Idaho, and killed limits of Mallards & Honkers several days in a row with his .410 and Foxtrot TSS loads with 9.5&10.5 shot mixed together. Made me a believer!

I did find some more! Found three more boxes. They are 9.5's though. But I am ok with that. He should be good to go. And yes, they do pattern well out to 40. Haven't and won't try beyond that with a .410. Was skeptical of 40 to be honest. But, they do pop a wallop at 40. Not in the least concerned about him shooting a bird that distance. 24 pellets in the kill zone.

I got them from Rogers. That is where I got the 8's from as well. But were showing me out of them until today when I checked again.

Sportsmans is weird. We have one here in town, but they can't order them or bring them in from other stores. Cannot order them online either. Talked to the manager last week about that, said it was store policy. Could see them in stores in other states, but not order them.

Thank you everyone with your help!

You could also try apex ammunition. com they might still have some in stock...
Apex showed out of stock on everything .410. Could get 12 gauge easy, but he isn't quite ready for that. Told him if he wants to keep hunting with a shotgun, time to go up to either 20 or 12 gauge. Not liking .410 availability or price anymore for shells. Triple that of 20 and 12 gauge where I am. I reload everything else, just not shotgun. He wants to start reloading them, but I just don't see a savings on it.
