Draw is happening

We all hope for tomorrow, but highly unlikely. Rio logging in or not won't help, he won't tell regardless. Just dangles the carrot for people to keep checking their apps every hour.

He or another member used to, but some ass clown called the dept to verify and it came to an end.
Just like the backdoors, some buffoon always has to call.

I remember one year when the Valles Caldera still did their early lottery ticket draw before the state draw I woke up at midnight to check, only to my dismay of not winning a hunt.

Top of the morning to yall fine gents, and gals .Tis the season eh, the Thunderchickens hopefully a bit active here in a day or so. I can say I love this group, yall have made the NM forum fun. Social Media people absolutely going crazy and understandably so, in just a short time MORE people will praise the dept and others spew hatred. Some will make false claims of 19 years straight no draw and complain they know a guy who has family in the dept and draws every year,bla,blah,blah...The one thing I know is IF I Or You are lucky enough to draw , these days it's a win to beat the huge draw odds and to appreciate that license, heck some guys may draw more than 1 some may draw multiple and I say congrats to them as they paid and entered with the same opportunities we all have. I wished yall could draw a little of this and that but that's not how it works,heck I'd be carrying my bow every year if that was the case.No matter what I'll take wins losses and celebrate the wins with my friends and family when they come and enjoy yalls success as shared as well. Best of luck ,that big game bingo hopper is,is,well I'm headed to work and 9 hours from now it's Turkey time. Wish me and my box call luck ,"amigos".

It's official, no draws this week since Rio showed up today!!
 
I'm hoping for another great tag in NM. Our family has been extremely blessed with tags in NM in the past 15 years so I can't complain if we don't draw this year.
Last year I finally decided to try for an elusive WSMR oryx tag and drew out on the first year I applied.
I've drawn first season rifle elk tags in 16D and 16B (twice).
I've drawn one rifle and one muzzy antelope tag.
My oldest son drew 36 youth elk and 5B youth deer.
My middle son drew youth ibex and a muzzy antelope tag.
I'm hoping one of us draws a great tag again this year but won't complain if we don't.

Your trying too hard to make something out of nothing. In a day or so , well the spring gobbler hunt starts in two days , so I bet Rio means he hopes the birds are talking. In just a short time , well the 27 or even the 20th is less then 2 weeks so either way short time sounds about right. 9 hours from now , he is working today and at the end of the day he is hunt traveling to be in the turkey woods opening morning...
Hmmmm , maybe just trying a bit too hard to find puzzle pieces that don't exist..

Its basically friday. Which is basically like the weekend is already here. Weekends go fast so its basically monday. Since the results will be up by next wednesday at the latest it means they could possibly be up by tuesday, if we go off last years draw history. and since its basically Monday we basically only have a day to wait for the draw results! Hope that helps! :)
 
The early draws are a waiting to see how you should apply in other draws. If you get lucky in one of the early draws the latter draws are Hail Marys or points. If not you start applying for easier hunts to have somewhere to go. If that does not pan out, it is OTC hunts. Which will soon be a thing of the past the way things are looking in other states.
It’s nice to draw a tag earlier in the year. Takes pressure off and I like the planning the hunt stage.

Ya, they are definitely getting bad. Have been for a while, but getting worse and worse now. Ran out of ideas. Plus, admitting they are gay grooming really turns me off on them. BUT that's a whole nother discussion.

Maybe game and fish will do what they did a couple times a long time ago, drop the results Friday at 4:55 PM and then drop out of the office. hahahaha
 
To alleviate my stress of waiting for NM results, I have been focusing on where to apply for sheep/goats in MT and all species in NV. Hopefully I get a nice surprise with a good NM tag or two and then can just swing for the fence in those states.
The month of May is way more stressful with numerous application deadlines and numerous draw results coming out.
 
Does anybody actually know the numbers that applied? I’m curious as to what they are and how they compare to last year. Thanks in advance.

I believe most people can’t take off work at the drop of a hat or can even afford to apply for all six. I’m blessed, retired and financially stable but I would bet that most people apply for two at most.
