Utah Muzzleloader Antelope Tag in Pocket-Final Goal Chance

Well I finally get a chance to finish a goal I set long ago. That is to harvest a buck deer, bull elk, and buck Antelope with each main weapon type, bow, rifle, and muzzleloader. The deer and elk are complete and Antelope will be completed this fall if I am successful on my Vernal South Slope muzzleloader Antelope hunt. I love shooting and hunting with my muzzleloader. It is a fun time of the year to start preparing for the fall hunts. Good luck to all and have fun.

Congrats. I wished Utah would have the muzzy season before rifle on elk and pronghorn.

Good luck with completing that great task! Never thought about it before but only need an antelope with the smoke pole myself. Just may need to try it. Post a report after the hunt with pictures.

Can't you just use a muzzleloader if you want on the Any weapon hunt?

Ridge did you draw any tags? Did you end up putting in for Colorado deer? I will keep you in the loop on how this season turns out as always. Good luck.

Just a fun little game with myself I started years ago. Three species, three weapons. Deer, elk, and Antelope seemed to be the logical route to accomplish it and I love hunting with all weapon types. I tried a handgun hunt once and I got frustrated with that but I may give it another try some day. I will try to put an update up on how this hunt turns out. Good luck

Yes you can and I tried it with my last Antelope tag that I had in Utah. My son was on the hunt with me at about age four and after a few failed stokes with him with my muzzleloader it was to easy to just pick up my rifle. My boy loved that hunt and it did not matter to him what weapon I used to filled my tag so it was a success. Having a dedicated muzzleloader tag in my pocket will make it so I do not have options to switch weapons. That was my application strategy on this tag. Good luck.

Nothing on the Utah LE draws. Bought point 16 on Colorado deer. I'm in my second year of dedicated, so I'll be hunting Utah deer again.
