How is the summer range shaping up for food supplies for the 2022 season in area 6? What did winter and Ytd spring put down this year? Looks like Elko averages 11 inches per annual. Trying to gauge the archery deer season in 2022.

I live in Sparks and we got a inch of snow at my house today. One week of May in the books and I still haven't had to turn on the irrigation yet. Not saying we're getting nearly enough but the string of storms in April and May have been nice.-------SS

Heres some data from the Commission meeting on Saturday. Drought map and water year map:

It's been dry as a popcorn fart. Horn growth won't be great across the board.
Heck look at new Mexico It's already burning up.

Winter weakens spring kills with that being said October was great December brought great moisture. I think horns will be good this year I think we will have a wet summer. Just a guess but it’s been windy for a month straight so I think we’re in the jet stream kinda cycle but I’m a plumber not a meteorologist so if I’m wrong I still get paid.

Actually meteorologists get paid to be wrong all the time, if you’re wrong as a plumber you will lose your job. It’s been pretty wet here in southern ID lately, I’m pretty sure they’ve been getting some of that moisture in Northern NV as well

We’re getting spit baths here. The Rubies and East Humboldts have done much better. The northern half of Elko Co. and S. Idaho Have been getting a bit more moisture, still below norms.

Elko and Soring Creek area have been getting a pretty good amount of moisture for the past 4 weeks (mid-April to mid-May). The weather station at my house has logged slightly over and inch of moisture in that time period. Looking at the extended forecast, there is nothing in the forecast for the next 2 weeks so it seems to be over.
