Proud Dad here....she got snubbed a bit last year but this year she came out with a few goals and she's accomplishing them. Being named to the 1st team Pac-12 was a goal. Being named to the All-Region 1st team was another goal. There are still 2 more she wants to hit so I'll let you all know if she gets there.

Nice! Congratulations!

Congrats to you and your daughter, I can’t think of anything more satisfaction than seeing your kids setting and accomplishing their goals! Very rewarding as a parent. I’ll brag a little here too, my daughter’s accomplishment from last weekend

I think I saw her hit a grand slam last night in that thumping they dished out!

You and I both saw that.

The girls state High School FP tournament is going on in a town near me; I am not sure if it is all classes or just one.

Anyway, I saw three girls in their uniforms in Scheels yesterday. I asked them if they were fast pitch players. Their eyes lit up a bit, we talked about our admiration for the game.

For those of you who have not played FP softball, it is a lot of fun, more so than baseball. Our tiny town where I went to school couldn't field a football team, so I played fastpitch in the fall for all 4 years of high school.

If you watched the game, you woulda seen Mr./Mrs. Wisz cheering her on. Delanie barely missed another grand slam and another HR in the same game.

What a great college career Delanie has had. Through her commitment she became one of best players in the NCAA this year. She is both an outstanding catcher and a lights out at third base. A golden glove, a dart thrower to first base, and a clutch hitter when the Bruins have needed runs. Remarkable reliable in ever facet of the game.

It has been a whole lot of fun watching Stevie and Delanie, both a credit to their parents. We can only hope they continue to excel in their future endeavors.

We need a lot more folks like the Wisz family.

Thanks for sharing them with us Steve and Melissa.

I appreciate all the kind words guys. To say I am proud is an understatement. For those of you who watched the WCWS, UCLA in particular, you know just how well Lanie did. She has been named to the All American Second Team as a catcher. She's only caught her Junior and Senior year in college....never caught an inning prior. She surpassed the all time record in post season RBI's for UCLA. She has been drafted #8 into the Womens Professional Fastpitch which is one of the pro leagues. She was named to the Pac 12 First Team as well as All Region First Team which is how this thread started.
Delanie had many goals set for this year and they all were reached except one.....winning a National Championship. The goal she really wanted was a personal goal and that was to hit a homerun in the WCWS...she hit two. One against Texas and a really big one in the first inning against Oklahoma in a game they ended up winning giving Oklahoma only their 3rd loss of the season.
We are extremely proud parents and whatever Delanie chooses to do from here, we know she'll do her best and most likely succeed. I appreciate all of the kind words and to all the others that bragged...congrats to your daughters as well. I know some say that it is a result of good parenting but I firmly believe it is the drive, grit and determination of our children and how God has made them that make them successful.
