How Does Price of Diesel Affect Your Hunt Plans

With all the threads about limiting NR tags and limiting scopes, trail cams etc, how will the price of diesel affect your fall hunting plans? For me and my hunt buddy we are going regardless if we pull the tags. The extra cost will curtail future plans though. High fuel prices will also curtail my offshore fishing trips for awhile!

Won't affect me in the least. Diesel can go to $10/gal and it still won't affect me.
The price of diesel affects EVERYBODY! How do you think that bread gets to the store, that camping gear, your hunting proclamations, your meat, your drinks, your ice, your clothes, your health care products and most everything else you use daily? Unbelievable!

We are going to pack everything and everyone in one truck this year instead of taking two truck as we usually do for our Kansas trip. More ways to split the fuel cost but not as convenient. It will work out regardless. With my limited annual hunting budget my solo hunts will be more costly which will have an impact somewhere at some point. I guess if money is no issue than it is easy to say it will have no impact but that is not the case for me.

Good luck in the draws.

My Last Couple Of Months Diesel Fuel Bill was Right at 900.00 per Month!

Going Huntin Might Be Cheaper for Once!

Biden Said Fuel Prices Were Gonna Drop!

WAFJ!
Elkass you should know better!! Brandon does NOT care about gas or diesel! He is currently, trying to pass a 3.1 billion dollar deal to take care of America's battery shortage. Read all about it if ya hadn't already. First thing we seen on the news this morning.

Won’t be to bad, I did have to downgrade the Hush edition blacked out jumping jack trailer to this unit. Adapt.. conquer.. and plenty of Time on the mountain this season is the way I see it

It won’t affect my hunting plans at all. I don’t drive it much anyway, it’s an 20 year old duramax with only 75k miles. I drive it even less now, filled her up in late February at around 4 bucks a gallon and have only driven it 80 miles since.

The title of the thread was will diesel prices affect your hunt Plans? We all know the effect it has on everything including going to hunt. I’m not changing my hunt plans based on the price of diesel.

When everyone drives their big jacked up diesel to the end of the pavement, only to drive their SXS everywhere else. The price of gas will be just as important.

We are all paying more. I planned to pay less. The price of diesel affects almost everything we buy. You’re going to hunt, I’m going to hunt most are going to hunt no matter how high prices are by hunting season. High prices will still affect your pocketbook. Good luck this year.

Relax, man.....

I think the point of the thread was pretty obviously focused on specifically the price of diesel fuel at the pump, else the thread would have been called something like: "How Does Inflation Affect Your Hunt Plans".

For me, I'm gonna go hunting either way!

:rolleyes::ROFLMAO:

I figure it’s going to take a toll on my other activities but not my cow elk hunt or my deer hunt, we need the meat.

I’ve gotta say, I have a great job and great benefits but the number one benefit is my fuel card. I haven’t paid for diesel in years. Every time the price goes up it’s really like I got a raise. I feel for you guys but count my blessings every time I stop at the pump

I’m Planning on using the two quads God gave me and get the most out of the feet to off set fuel cost this season, and run some red dye in the vw jetta

I have three out of state hunts planned this year & I will need to drive home between hunts on all three. So My cost will double on fuel from 2k to 4k. All hunts from Oregon to rocky mts. Soooo I will just have to step up to the pay window, work harder and charge more for my services. Besides that FJB

I am going either way, it’s my only bad habit left. The guys that I hunted Wyoming antelope with the last couple years told me they weren’t going due to fuel and tag cuts.

It pisses me off but not changing plans. Montana deer and elk tags, unit 100-1 Wyoming elk tag, two trips to Wyoming. Will try and store a trailer and quads in Wyoming so don’t have to haul twice from WA. Is about the only change.

Yep, maybe not the best time to have ordered a new diesel, but it should be enjoyable breaking it in on a couple hunts in Utah, Wyoming and Colorado. Heck the new diesels should probably get better mileage then my current gasser and help a bit.

My dad used to kick himself for going with a GMC 2500 that was not the diesel... right now he feels a little better about it.

I'll be driving my commuter car to scout my unit this year. No reason to not be more conscientious of the costs associated with driving halfway across the state... lol

Nothing wrong with altering techniques, if they get the job done. Problem solving is a worth while talent. Hard times justify wise choices..,..
