Yea, though I vote for draconian measures I will fear no major upsets and crushing of my needs and existence. For Iord Gavin Newsome knoweth what is best for you ! ??

California needs to figure out where they're going to get water before they worry about plugging in their EV after the sun goes down and no electricity is being generated.
California has crime, electricity, water, border, overcrowding, drugs, billions of restrictions and over populated with Libs. Can't figure out how they could have more problems? ???

We just finished having solar panels installed at our residence. To combat brown outs during the daylight hours and to lower our electric monthly bill. Not cheap, but well worth it in the long run.
This state run by idiot liberal democrats has been putting the cart before the horse for the past 30 years and it is now catching up to them.

Easy to rid your state of that horrible carbon produced energy.

IPP is in Utah, those hicks will use carbon to light up Cali.

And, hopefully, you can keep a source for batteries...

Roadrunner, we did not go the battery backup route. Batteries are not that great in long run and have a history of starting fires. Just hooked into the grid. Same setup my son has and he gets zero dollars owed on some monthly electric bills or 10-20 owed per month. Here in CA. running a house air conditioner will generate monthly electric bill of 350-400 dollars per month in Sumner time.

So, what's the advantage to having solar at your house if you're still hooked up to the grid?

Is your entire house converted to DC power as well?

No need for air conditioner here in the fog. We get 3-4 days a year above 75. You should hear the climate alarmist's squeal on those days.

Roadrunner the advantage is very low or no electric bills where the price difference pays for the solar installation in about 6-7 years and it is gravy after that. Also you will get credits from PGE when you put more kilowatts into their system which is very common with the size of panels that we had installed.
All of the panels and hardware has a 25 year warranty.

But you're still tied to the grid unless you have a stand alone battery pack and/or inverter at your home to go from DC to AC.

Otherwise, you're just a small scale power generator for a larger conglomerate.

Up in Alaska SS puts solar panels out from November to March and isn't too happy with the return.
? that is true for way up north. SC and SE you would be surprised at how much you’ll get even in winter.

It was nice leaving the house today at 3am for work, didn’t need the headlights haha.

Roadrunner, where I live in CA. you are required to be tied to the PGE grid if they service the area you have installed the solar power.
Our liberal politicians provide great support to PGE and PGE supplies big campaign money to them at election time. PGE is Pacific gas & electric company. The biggest electric power company in CA.

I was in a sporting goods store in Soldotna at about noon one day in June and a guy came in and told the cashier he wanted to buy a King Salmon stamp. I told him today was the last day of King Salmon season. He said he knew that, but he planned on fishing until it closed at midnight. I forgot they fish 24 hours a day that time of year. :ROFLMAO:

I know who PG&E is. Sounds a little like a collusion thing going on...

I received my True up at the end of the first year and have a credit as I produced more power than I used. So for the next four months I have no electric or gas bills. Utility Free
When I do pay my bill is 9.99 a month.
Not for all but here in California we have the sun to make it work....
