No email or change on my cpwshop.com (points/draws). Just a charge on my credit card for $420..00. That is my only notification so far.

So how does it work if you put in as a group, my dad got an email last night saying his card was expired. He updated it today but no email, no charges for any of us and my account still says entered for deer? I'm assuming they hit the whole group at once or no charges unless he fixes it. Thoughts?

Hard to say I had fraud charges on my card yesterday so I had to block my card. I'm guessing I won't know until they post the results now

I got moose and bear notifications for myself and kids. Bear charges hit the card yesterday and the successful emails were in my inbox this morning. Assume the deer emails will be out in the morning as charges hit my card at 12:30 today for deer.

Looks like second choice deer for this ombre. Got the hit on the card n still picked up a point on the CPW website. So thats my only logical conclusion

My card got hit yesterday, my points say zero, -24 imported on May 18th, my accounts still says entered.

I wish I'd checked my points before I had to enter in WY , not sure if it would have read zero or not.

Doubt it would have helped. My Deer and Elk points are still showing the same as last year. Everyone on the sites are saying credit cards are getting hit before points are changing.

Also Got a "not awarded" on the CPW website. So much for the toprut odds, said I had a 50 percent odds for my 3rd choice and 100 percent for my 4th choice for the units 128 and 122 multi unit 1st and 2nd archery tags.

Unles I am not understanding how the system works? This is my first year applying in Colorado.

My deer points changed to zero and my account now says I was awarded a deer tag, but still no credit card charge.

My deer app says not awarded. Ell and antelope still say entered, but I'm not expecting anything for those.

I just got a charge for $420.23 for pronghorn! CPW account still shows all my pronghorn points and draw status as “entered” and my deer application as “not awarded”.

It doesn’t appear that the CPW is following their new procedure as they are supposed to send the successful e-mails first and allow the applicant a short period to surrender their tag prior to charging the applicant’s card for the tag which I was seriously contemplating…

Tx. What about your points. Maybe “not awarded” applies to first choice ?
First year applying so it updated from 0 to 1 point. I think if I was awarded a 3rd or 4th choice it would say awarded then highlight or write out the one I got I am assuming. No CC charge either. Oh well. I already have a Utah and NM deer tag so I really can not complain

Just checked because no cc hits or emails. But points are gone and says awarded first choice on there website! I’m stoked after 24 years of applying for deer!!

Your first choice is the only choice that matters unless the other choices have “leftovers” you can’t draw a tag on any other pick but the first choice.

You didn't state what hunt codes, but if you imply that you listed hunt codes DE122O1A and DE128O1A as your 3rd and 4th choices, you had zero chance to draw those. Almost all of those licenses were awarded to 1st choice applicants in past years. And in the draw, they fill everyone's first choice before any lower choices are considered.

Top Rut is typically spot-on, so you may have mis-read the information they provided.

Not strictly true, a tag drawn as second choice never will hit the “leftovers” and you will get a pp. I draw a second choice every year, build points, and hunt elk with two different licenses. One must be a b list tag.

You are correct there!

Well I drew my first choice. Thought this would be my only hunt and had dedicated all my research and a good chunk of vacation time to this hunt. Turns out I drew a CO sheep tag and a UT premium elk tag with far worse odds than the sheep tag. I am certainly not complaining, but will be hard pressed to make time for all 3. Could be a dandy tag on the leftover list. We'll see how things shake out. Gonna be a helluva fall even if I have to put the deer hunt off for now. Congrats to all the tag holders!

Congrats on some sweet tags. Darrell here from KS. I've misplaced your phone number but I'll shoot you an email! That Utah elk tag has me very envious, especially since CO seems intent on not letting me know if I drew that 76 tag I'm after.

Any of you get your official usuc email for deer? My account and all did update but for whatever reason no email. Did check and see that they have the correct email on file.

Ya I got results posted on my CPW page for all but elk.

Toprut's odds are absolutely correct.....for last year. What people don't understand is that they have no bearing on this years odds whatsoever. To explain further, tag numbers often are increased or decreased in Colorado and season dates are adjusted making some years more desirable than others. Toprut's odds don't reflect that. Also, you need to look at how many applications there were last year. Often times their are more folks in each of the lower tier point totals and as you move up it takes longer to get through that entire group as it is larger-described as point creep. There are a few people around that actually crunch the numbers and can give you an expectation of whether you will draw or not based upon odds, tag increases or decreases and notoriety for a hunt that changes application pools. Last years odds should be used as a go by to give you an idea of what it takes.
