WY sheep harvest locations?

I made a public inquiries request and was told Wyoming Statue 23-1-302(r)(i) made it unlawful to share harvest locations? Has anyone received harvest locations from WY in the last few years?

According to the statute posted , yes they can not put out that info.
Just talk with the biologist they will share some goof info without having to know exact locations of harvest.

Thanks! I know in the past a couple guys I talked to got that info but that was around 10 years ago. Surprised me so I wanted to double check.

Clearly you'll want "good" info not "goof" info.
I know in the past it was available.

I called last year and had same issue. I was told on the phone falls under the GPS selling locations they made a couple years ago. My response was well you're not selling to me. Lol. But luckily before they went by this rule there is some old sheets of harvest when they use to share it.

Your best info is talk to the biologist. They fly the areas.

That is what I thought, it changed. It seems like it is correct according to their statue but it would be nice if they revised it. I left the bio a message. It would be really nice to get harvest data. If anyone has some for unit 5 & 22 from the past 10 years they would be willing to share please PM me. Thanks!

Dang if it was unit 3 I could have shared some I got in 2017, I’ll still share with ya but not gonna be much help ha , anyway good luck and hope to see some results ??

From my perspective, even if that information is available, it can be pretty bogus data. Many successful hunters who have friends applying for that tag just list a random drainage away from their actual kill location. That is especially true if they have been guided and the outfitter doesn't want to lead everyone into their hunt area.
So my advice is, if you do find that info, I'd take it for what it is worth.

I had a sheep tag in 2017 in Unit 1. I was very familiar with the unit and how to access it. I provided accurate information as to the location of my harvest and also the location of a dead head I found that year. It was a tough hunt. I understand why most resident and nonresident sheep hunters use an outfitter. The animals are spread out over a vast area. Most outfitters know where to look. That year we had a relatively new biologist in the area. He was lucky to know where his pickup was parked let alone where the sheep lived.

My opinion about disclosing information to G&F employees about harvest locations is mixed. When asked, I used to tell them where I harvested a deer or an elk. I don’t anymore. One local G&F employee is a bucket mouth. He ruined one of my favorite mule deer spots with his big mouth. Now they only get the unit number.

I have disclosed to people who have asked where I have seen goats and bighorn sheep over the years. Some of those locations are “tough access” spots. Knowing where they are and getting to them are two different things. Personal knowledge gained from experience in a unit, is better than anything you will receive from G&F.

Just sayin...mh

I can tell you if it’s bogus, they put some pretty good misinformation down.

Those charts are handy that you gave me. I learned a lot. Those sheets I noticed a major change from 2012 to 2017. In 2017 the sheep completely changed cycles in the month of September. The sheep established new living grounds in that month.

On those harvest reports the month of October the harvest of sheep has been consistent for many years which the answer is the weather change
