Nevada Desert Sheep unit 267

Drew this once in a lifetime tag and researching best options to access the sheep. Anyone know this area well? I know a lot of people use boats to glass/spot sheep and then hike up to get within range. Can this unit be hunted as effectively without a boat? Any other info on hunting sheep in this unit would be greatly appreciated.

It can be hunted effectively from the lake or the top. Both methods are going to require a lot of hiking to open up country for glassing and even then youre still leaving a lot of untouched. MUCH more physical unit than its neighbor to the north.

Have you been down there much before? Where are you coming from? How many points did you have? First choice...or?

Its once in a lifetime for most guys....there was a nonresident last year who was on his second time drawing it!

Yup,
He could still be hunting 267 because the unit is still open, but we would all like to hear a recap. 2 sheep hunts is like hitting the lotto twice in one year!

I posted a story after I got back and got caught up at home and work. Story was also in the February Hunt’n Fool in 2021. Try this, not sure I copied it correctly.

My 2020 Rocky and Nelson Sheep hunts | Sheep, Goats, Moose, Antelope, etc.

This year I beat all the odds and drew 2 sheep tags. A Utah Rocky and a Nevada Nelson Desert tags. This post will take me quite a while to complete, but I will try and finish it with in a week. Both hunts were DIY with by hunting partner Kevin, daughter Karen , and son in law Cody coming along...
