I have 6 sd cards that I'm not able to erase. In the past, I have put them into my regular camera to erase. For some reason, this method no longer works for me. Any ideas how to erase the cards? Thanks

But of course they’re not really “erased” if you simply reformat them on a computer. You’re basically just deleting the index. The pics are still there and can be recovered. To actually erase the card you have to use a program to overwrite all the data on it.

But, in the vast majority of cases, reformatting is all you need to do.

Normally, the switch on the side of the card is used to "write protect " the data on the card. Make sure it is in the proper position. If you can't format with the camera, sounds like you last used them in a device (camera) which used software to protect. Then you need to do it in the computer, and change the command line in the data storage profile. Many easy explanations on 'Net

I've used my computer a bunch of times. Some game cams also allow you to delete photos and video. Videos are what take up the most pixels!
