my 2 kids did not draw the deer tags we put in for. so much for youth preference...

How many tags were available? The stats should be available fairly soon so it will show if other youths drew them or not

My boy drew his 2nd choice muzz deer. Now he has muzz elk and deer in the same unit. Can’t wait

I drew a leftover deer tag as a non-resident. 2nd Choice DM02301M Antlrd Mzzldr 023. I was somewhat surprised. I think there was 8 tags leftover. I plan on doing a backpack into the wilderness-style hunt. Opens on September 10th. I have never been in this area so it will be all new figuring it out. Should I be excited? Has anyone had this tag that can get me excited?

Never hunted out of state before so rolled the dice on Colorado.
I did my homework and wanted 3rd season so I pick 10 units and narrowed it down to one. I was going to put my son in but his grades in school wasn't so great.
Wouldn't you know it I drew. I'm not going to lie was a little nervous but also excited.
I have never hunted out of my state before and I have Never set foot on this unit.
Then my boy cleaned up his act and pulled threw with really good grades.
So I research the unit I drew out for and found there was very little to none tags leftover, So I rolled the dice again.
I put him in and he drew! Me and my son get to have a experience of a lifetime together this year.
He also has been one lucky kid this year. Him and his younger brother also drew the Youth rifle elk tag in September right during the rut in Utah.
This will be a year I know I will never forget and I hope my boys don't forget.
Now to plan the scouting trips begins and getting to know the area which will be a lot of fun the whole family is going.
