Rona-22…How long???

So I’m recovering from the Rona-virus. Not too worried about it other than I want to be able to taste my elk steaks again.

For those that have had it, how long before you got your taste and smell back? This part is the most concerning lol!

I hope you get it all back. It’s been close to a year for me and my taste still comes and goes. Certain days, things taste muted, some things taste normal and some things just taste like sh!t. I used to love my coffee and now the smell almost gags me and it no longer tastes like coffee. I still drink it but it’s just not the same.

Onions haven’t tasted the same since Nov of 2020… Everything else has came back but slowly…

Both my son and his wife had it twice each. Took a couple of weeks the first time. DiL caught it again about a month ago...again about 1.5 to 2 weeks. My wife and I never vaxxed and ne er did get it so don't have a personal experience with it.

I've had it twice now and the weirdest thing about it is I can smell things like a bird dog.
My sense of smell has never been this good in my life.
Good luck man, you got this!

I never lost my sense of smell, but I'm almost 2 years since I caught it and my lungs are still heavily scarred up without any sign of improvements in my last scans

My loss of taste and smell was easily a month, maybe a bit longer... but, I've yet to recover my sense of smell for most poo and poo-related odors. Really weird, and kind of a blessing.

Same experience here , poo smells are oddly muffled and sulfur tone now ??? so not bad.
And wasn’t going to say anything about the Aerobic impact but it did me too. Thought it was old age almost 50 ?, and all but finally running again without killing myself

I lost taste and smell for 20 hours the second time i had covid. It was the only symptom besides testing positive.

The most concerning part was not being able to smell the elk in September. But it came back halfway through eating an apple.

Good luck.

Caught the Rona in November 2020. Smell and taste didn't come back until May 2021. I still get weird metallic smells and tastes occasionally. It hits people different, that I have learned.

I didn't have to much taste issues' after I had it (February 2020) But I still have breathing problems some days up hiking on the mountain. It started showing up about 6-9 months after I had it.

It cuts off my deep breath halfway thru and I have to try again, kinda like back when we drove Clutches on our trucks and did a Double Clutch now and then.

Hang in their man,

Robb

I’m 7 months post. Lost smell and taste seemingly instantly upon 1st day of symptoms. Began recovering taste and smell (albeit slowly) after about a week. Things are still are not fully the same. It’s subtle but I barely smell “bad” smells and foods I love are good but just a bit muted- sort of like I am enjoying them based on taste PLUS the “memory” of what they should taste like. Good luck.

Fortunately it hasn’t hurt your ability to choose avitars (y)

I lost my smell and taste this last Saturday, July 9th. It started coming back last night and right now I am 85% back.

Crossing my fingers for you.

I'm on day 4 right now. Escaped the Rona monster for the past 2.5 years but it finally caught me. Thought I'd feel better today but instead my throat and chest feel like I drank a cup of lava. On the plus side my sense of taste and smell aren't gone completely. Things taste a little different but that could also be the green mucous adding its own flavor to the pallet.

I got it a couple of weeks ago finally……mild symptoms with a very itchy nose. Cold symptoms only lasted for 3 days. Thank God I didn’t lose my sense of taste :)

I suppose my mild symptoms were because I was fully vaxxed and boosted  My symptoms were about like the shot.

I haven't had it and neither has my wife. Almost everyone else I know has at one point. I had my Thyroid removed so it is mandatory I take vitamin D3 5000 iu daily. Could be why I'm safe.

I finally got it over the weekend. First time in the 2.5 years for me too. Smell and taste aren’t completely gone, but they are damn close.
