Leftover list

I thought the Aug 2 List, which is online now, was for leftovers and beginning Aug 9 the re-issues started showing up but the re-issues are on there now. I'm confused - what is different beween Aug 2 and Aug 9 and beyond?

Only difference is, one will go on sale at 9am and the rest at 11am

Wouldn't it be less confusing to just bump up the Leftover/Reissue Process a week by posting the list Aug 2, and releasing tags Aug 3 at 11:00?
According to the regs: lists are posted on Tuesday’s and go on sale Wednesday at 11 am tell 1pm

Per the CPW site, today's list of tags that go on sale August 2nd should include the following:
  • Limited licenses leftover after the primary and secondary draws for elk, deer, pronghorn and bear
  • Limited elk, deer, pronghorn, and bear licenses that someone drew but did not pay for during the secondary draw and took fewer than five resident preference points
  • Limited licenses that were returned for refund/preference point restoration since the opening of the secondary draw but prior to July 25 and took fewer than five resident preference points to draw
  • Over-the-counter (OTC) licenses for elk, archery pronghorn, whitetail deer, and bear
So I'm guessing the list posted on August 8th will include tags returned and reissued after July 25th. Might be a few more decent tags available August 9th but my guess is that tags for better hunts won't be available until closer to the refund/point restoration deadline which is 30 days prior to the hunt code start date.

Thanks that was very helpful.

Have any of you been able to grab a tag from this list since they changed the release process? Myself and the wife used to be able to get a tag or two when they were released randomly. Have yet to even get a sniff since the change.

Awesome. We’ve been setup at
The computer ready to go, I thought we were going fast, but we weren’t fast enough. Maybe this is the next big thing for hunting. Training to be quick on the keyboard ?‍???‍?

I’m in the same boat, so are all my buddies… have yet to figure this thing out

I was able to get three tags in my cart last year, but miraculously there was nothing there when I immediately to check out. They said that someone else hit at the exact same time as I did, and they got it and I didn't

I was thinking about going to a cpw office and sit my happy butt down. I just don’t know that any of the elk tags I’d get are worth it.

I tried both the Denver and Salida offices last year, 1st in line both times, NOTHING. The person behind the counter told me she has never been able to get anyone a the tag that had less than 3 available. Makes you wonder?
Does someone have the same software that is used by resale companies to get concert and sporting tickets?

Work buddy of mine is personal friends with the guy that made the leftoverwatch app a few years back. He said that fella wasn’t getting tags. There are some high tech dudes that are into hunting, I just need to join their nerd gang I guess

Here is a question I haven’t seen addressed. Can 2 different people be logged in to a single persons acct on different computers and apply for the same tag or for different tags for that person?

Finally got my son to commit to bringing my grandson hunting (after the leftover drawing!☹️). Want to try for a cow tag and a buck tag for grandson. Can both his Dad and I be online on his acct trying to get two different tags for him? I realize there is no youth preference from this point on.

As long as your both logged in on separate accounts and separate computers shouldn’t be a problem. Let us know how it goes

Pretty sure it doesn’t work. My wife and I were both trying to get her a tag a couple years ago from different places and we kept kicking each other out of the account

We would be trying to log in to the same account twice at the same time. Sounds like it would not work.

Thx

Some folks are in the que now despite directions. Others can’t get past residency page lol. Folks at machines are past residency w unit numbers…

Smooth like butta again ???‍♂️

Gfto I should have gone to a machine… stupid computers… but I was told I have the same chance as the first people in line haha… CPW said so

I logged in too late and am in line to allow access to my acct. dang it! It’s 9 and my little icon is only 25% across the screen. My own fault but really??? After all this time and all these problems they still
Don’t have them fixed? Now have to wait until everyone in front checks out. ?

Well I followed instructions, got on, punched in my hunt code, it showed it in my cart and then it kicked me to a que?! WTF!!!!

I made it in thru the que in time, hit proceed at at 9, "no tags available" there were 4 available, not sure how to be any faster. Did not even make it to the cart.

Hit continue at 9 tried 6 codes nothing left. But not surprised. I wonder how many people are logged in at 9 probably an amazing number

I was logged in at 8:00:01 and had my tag in the cart at 9:00:40 then had to go to the queue for 11 min. before I could check out. I was sweating it!

They should put the OTC tags/caps out 1st. Then later that day or the next day start this **** show called leftover tags.

I can't imagine anyone is happy on how they roll it out presently. Even if I had gotten the tag I was after, I would still be upset and if you call 2 different CPW offices you will get 2 different answers on how the leftover process works.

My buddy and I were on the phone with each other during the process. Both got logged in and at 9:00:01 hit proceed. I got in and he got booted to the waiting list.

I put in a hunt code, confirmed it was what I wanted and placed it in my cart. The countdown began and I got kicked out of the system onto the wait list. I was allowed back in and luckily had 4 minutes left to purchase the tag. I was quite pissed for 10 minutes! By the time my buddy got in the tags were all gone.

I get a little confused by the info CPW puts out on their web site. The info posted late last week said sign in after 8:00 am and you be put in the queue but don't go past the resident page until 9:00. "CPW’s licensing vendor Aspira utilizes a virtual queuing program, called Queue-It, to mitigate the load on the system. While products go on sale at 9 a.m., customers who are on the site and logged in up to an hour prior will be placed in the queue. Do not go further than the residency page until 9 a.m. or you will be moved to the back of the queue." I signed in a minute after 8:00 but did not get put into the queue so I completed everything up to the resident page and waited to be put into the queue. At 9:00:01 I hit the "proceed" button on the residency page and then I got put into the queue for 9 minutes. Did I miss a step at 8:01 that kept me out of the queue? Not a big deal but I had my eye on a pronghorn tag.

That’s makes way too much sense

Had the exact same experience, I got in and got a tag to the cart, buddy got booted with nothing. Mine stayed in the cart and I had a couple min to check out, what a roller coaster of emotion

That's felony fraud, like bad sh*t bad. Not saying it's not possible but would you take that risk for a premium tag? I wouldnt. And the CPW people I know wouldn't do it. I just dont see it but who knows.
