Man with assault rifle attempts to hold up store.
80 year old says "Not here".
Shoots the bad guy with his shotgun.
Then has a heart attack.
Shrugs that off, returns to work a couple days later.

Oh- and he credits his hunting skills.

Nice.......

I really liked the part where the little coward ran out of the store yelling, "he shot off my arm". Store owner needs to take the birdshot out of the shotgun and load it with #4 buckshot and it would have taken off his arm.

I’m going to regret this, but why #4? Why not 0 or 00?

lol...so it only penetrates three drywall walls and kills less innocent bystanders....birdshot was ideal and should be in every home defense shotgun....
He was talking about #4 buck, not #4 bird. The difference between #4 buck and 00 buck isn’t really that much - something like a 22 vs 38.

I hunt quail with #6 ……00 is for the 12 ga next to the bed. Collateral damage be damned.

Good thing with shotgun shells one can decrimp them and stick anything that will fit in the shotcup and recrimp. Good way to mess a barrel up though.

I know what he was talking about.....25 caliber

That's what the "lol" was for...you missed the poor sarcasm...

00 0r 0 buck will penetrate 6 walls.....

#4 buck has 27 pellets and at that range he used it, it would have been about 6 inch pattern and tore his arm off or done enough damage he probably would have bled to death. Most #00 buck shot shells only have 9 pellets, with some having up to 12.
#4 will not penetrate as far as #00 buck but will penetrate more then birdshot. I did a lot of testing comparing #00 to #4 buck as a LEO firearms instructor. #4 was far superior to #00 for consistent hits out to 25 yards. Believe it or not, but #00 out of cylinder bore shotgun could miss the vital zones at 25 yards with a center mass aiming point. #4 buck would put about 5-7 pellets into the vital zone of the target.

I get it, but my bedroom isn’t 25 yards across. A bigger pattern 2 houses away isn’t going to help me much. But IF I do hit the badguy, I want a hole clear thru.

I’ve shot plenty of stuff with birdshot at close range……buckshot is more lethal. Bigger is better for me.

I love shotguns. The list of things I’ve killed with one would be pretty long. No people though.

When I say I will regret something, I guess it means I look forward to discussing it.

My defensive load in the motorhome when traveling is my 10 ga, 3.5" with copper plated #2's. Handguns in the house.

I just picked up 20 boxes of #4 buck, as opposed to #4 shot, at Scheels today. I was pleasantly surprised the clerk knew the difference.

This shotgun is loaded with buckshot and is 18 inches from me as I type this reply. If two barrels can not repel all boarders, near by I have a Remington 870 tactical shotgun with extended mag tube and 8 rounds of buckshot. I will not mention where the pistols are located. RELH

Are you expecting a visit from the McCoy's?

No Eel, old Randall lost 5 of his kids in that feud. Devil Anse never lost one child to the feud.

Nope, just to cycle my older stuff that I have stashed here and there.

You ever done any testing with T shot? My go to coyote/predator combination was a 22-250 and a 20ga. The 20ga is a youth model I bought for my children, but they did not like it. Turned it into a close range predator gun. Hand-loaded 3” nickel plated T-shot would roll coyotes at 40 yards plus.

Sometimes you need to shoot through doors.

That is why my shotguns are loaded with buckshot. Will go though a door and still have enough velocity to do serious damage to the criminal on the other side of the door. Birdshot can fail at times on shooting though a dense barrier.

That dude took those three shots well. I think I would have made some noise due to the pain involved. The family made more noise than him and they weren’t even shot. I would have at least said a cuss word or said oww or ahh.

What in the h*ll goes through people's minds? If you try to break my door down, you will most likely get shot. I just can't wrap my mind around the stupidity of some people.

The difference between 00 and 4 Buck on coyotes is substantial. That 00 makes a pretty big mess inside 40 yards
