The Real Conspiracy

This has nothing to do with Rittenhouse, COVID, Biden, or any other "whataboutism" justification that people can come up with trying to justify bad behavior by pointing to other bad behavior.

On a side note... I'm constantly shocked how often people go to that cup. It's a false argument, but they keep trying to sell it.
I don't think this is trying to justify bad behavior. More like pointing out that there seams to be a different set of rules depending on how what side of the political divide you fall on.
That's my point.
?

If Jones told people to attack the families, that would be one thing.
You mean like when the VP told the summer of love rioters they should not stop or when the leader of the Senate that justices would face the whirlwind if they didn't rule the way he wanted.

Is it insane?

There has to be a level of punishment that stops the bad behavior. Like ICMDEER said, would be nice to just kick the ever loving chit out of AJ. You know knock his teeth down his throat, but that's not the way it works.

So the recourse is to make him hurt monetarily.

Bad behavior shouldn't be rewarded with a slap on the wrist.
The difference between justice and punishment. Describes well the difference in philosophy between a conservative and a liberal. The conservative would say that a civil lawsuit should provide justice. The liberal wants to use it to punish. I suggest any punishment should be dealt with by law enforcement and prosecutors. That line is the problem with civil suits.

Yes, insane it is...

Did Jones threaten them?

He defamed them, yeah. I'm sure his words caused a lot of grief.

But actual physical threats and actions, buy OTHER people, are, or should be, ON THOSE PEOPLE.

My belief here
My belief on Jan 6
My belief with Sanders supporter shooting Republicans.
My belief with Maxine Waters.

Words are words. Physical action is physical action .

This new standard, will bite back.
That's where a line of reasonableness comes in. Was it reasonable for Jones to think his defamation would cause threats? Obviously.

I know you think you've got it all figured out, but I'm relying not on my own judgement but on the judgement of the judicial system. The trial already happened and the threats were introduced. It already happened, it's not theoretical.

Clearly the attorneys and judge believed that threats were relevant or they wouldn't have been allowed in the trial. Jones' attorney would have immediately objected to the testimony about the threats on grounds they were irrelevant, unrelated, and prejudicial. The fact that the testimony was allowed in and the jurors got to hear about those threats shows they are directly related to defamation.

I'm talking to the king of unrelated strawman arguments, but courts don't work like that. If the testimony isn't relevant and is harmful to the defendant/respondent, the jurors don't hear it.

The same attorney who handed over the wrong phone records to the prosecutor? Not really a ringing endorsement of his competency.

But coming from the resident expert on everything under the sun, I'd expect no less. I mean your cracker jack box law degree and decoder ring being so much better than everyone else's.

You know if it wasn't just last month you were questioning judicial rulings in the Roe case, someone might believe the horseshit you just spewed about judges being right.

You are, as always, consistently inconsistent.

Carry on counselor

Grizz calls that "what aboutism". Which is the answer given by people without actual beliefs or principles, but for whom political persuasion trumps law or ethics.

One does not look at instances for what they are, one must decide if accused is a conservative first, then apply punishment accordingly.

I actually like Grizz, believe it or not, but he truly does believe he is not biased, which is laughable. Him and Jesus I guess

If we're going to head down the rabbit hole of insanity in the legal system, you aren't going to like that discussion as it relates to the "conservative" slant of that double-edge sword.

You think its NOT insane for conservative judges to throw people into "for profit" prisons for not paying parking tickets? For not paying speeding tickets? For getting caught with a baggie of weed or smoking a joint? You know, all sorts of "high crime" offenses that the punishment, or as you call it "justice" being served is extended jail sentences for such petty "crimes" and hardened "criminals"?

Yeah, no correlation between for profit prisons and laws being pushed by those prison's lobbyist's to make sure they fill every cell via the "justice" system.

But, all that aside, Alex Jones was found guilty by a jury of his peers and got what he had coming to him.

He could have kept his mouth shut and avoided the whole mess, you reap what you sow. I have not one ounce of sympathy for that loser.

The way things are now days y’all don’t think anyone really gives a phc about what he did or what happens to him or anyone else these days for that matter.

Should we remind Buzz the "for profit prisons" employ unionized guards?

Nah.

Let him spew stupidity like dudes in prison for parking tickets. Cuz, as we all know, he's about facts, and "the law"?

Unless, it's SCOTUS knocking down Roe, then suddenly old captain Buzz is suddenly not about the law, judges, or courts.

Gee Buzz- your concern is unrelated to this case. But, I agree that there are overzealous laws, prosecutors and judges.

In THIS case, I agree that he is a loser and I don't sympathize with him. In THIS case, the punitive damages are ridiculous, as they can be in states like Connecticut. My concern isn't about AJones- I could give a flying rats rear about him. My concern is that it furthers crazy people to sue for crazy things and crazy amounts of money- using this case (and so many others) as their impetus.

Tort reform is a very good thing. So are sane sentencing guidelines for petty crimes.

I don't think the amount is ridiculous at all, and just as you don't care about AJ, I don't care about the amount awarded.

If the awarded amount is significant enough, maybe he'll quit slandering and defaming people.

He's the type of person that probably won't learn anything, which I why I think the amount awarded is appropriate.

This whole thing was avoidable, all he had to do was keep his fat yap shut. Don't like having to pay large payouts in civil suits, don't defame and slander people, really simple.

I know one thing for certain, if that was my kid I lost and Jones was calling me a liar, I'd be going to prison for a murder charge.
I'd drive a nail through his forehead with a picture of my son's body attached to it.

That's the kicker.

Dude should have his ass kicked, no doubt.

But for what he said. Not for what se other jackwagon did.

But then I hated it in kindergarten when the whole class got punished for what one kid did.

I looked it up out of curiosity. Jones is worth $270 million.

"Last month, the Jan. 6 committee showed graphic and violent text messages and played videos of right-wing figures, including Jones, and others vowing that Jan. 6 would be the day they would fight for Trump."

"The committee first subpoenaed Jones in November, demanding a deposition and documents related to his efforts to spread misinformation about the 2020 election and a rally on the day of the attack."

Oh. I get it now.

One more question. Do you think the complete net worth of every parent of a sandy hook victim together adds up to 49 million dollars?

One thing I hope is that this is not the end of Alex Jones. The guy is an out and out liar as has been proven in court and other places. If he is gone, I will miss the entertainment. It is so fun to laugh at him. No law was broken by him lying? Maybe, but we need to protect liars less. There needs to be some sort of justice in bringing down liars. You shouldn’t be able to spread chit without consequence. His deal is that he has a lot of low IQ people that believe him.

If Buzz and Grizz we're consistent, then they would be vocal about cases in the reverse, like Sandmann, or Rittenhouse( who POTUS even slandered), but they aren't about folks "getting what they deserve" for having big mouths, they are for "right wingers" getting smacked.

Now Grizz and Buzz will say "what aboutism", which is a tell. Grizz is a bright guy(Buzz is not so much) he knows of course,he can't show you where he supported or encouraged Sandmann or Rittenhouse as they seek "vengeance". As they should be awarded millions from deep pocketed "far left" folks who ran their mouths, got them banned from colleges, forced them to hire private security, caused them pain and anguish.

No, if you point out the obvious, that both Grizz and Buzz only vocally are pro "getting what he deserves" as long as it's a "far right" person(glad to retract if either can show otherwise), then YOU create strawmen, talk in "what aboutism", don't understand "the law", etc, etc, etc.

Doesn't mean Grizz is a bad guy, (Buzz is a ***) in fact far from it. It does mean he's as biased as all the Trumsters he claims everyone else is. But, he's a well spoken, good dude, so cracking him about that bias, is pretty fun. Him not being malicious even when telling folks to "seek help?" is why it's enjoyable debating with him. We all have that buddy that as we are sitting around the fire drinking a beer and eating a steak, cracks open a White Claw and eats a salad?

Glad Founder is letting some stuff go. It's the Campfire. We don't all sit around one eating s'mores and singing songs. We talk about Brandon, trucks and boobs.?

Ever watch CNN?

Paid Nick Sandmann for libel

Employ Jeff Toobin after he wanked off on a zoom meeting

Employ Don Lemon after he settled sexual harassment

Employed Chris Cuomo.

Propagated "Russia gate" for 3 years.

"Mostly peaceful protest"

Let's be honest. What's the difference between AJ and CNN, MSNBC, FOX, ABC,CBS, ?

They are right about the same percentage as AJ

Bring them down too. I will cheer it on. One time I was talking to a good friend and he is very into UofA basketball. He told me a story about a bogus news report on the coach doing illegal recruiting or something like that. It turned out totally false. Nothing happened to the news agency that pulled it out of their ass and reported it. I’m not even a basketball fan and it pisssed me off. That’s wrong if it’s CNN or whoever.

Yeah, the Nazi's think he was treated unfair.

he was tried by a bunch of Texicans, and we all know a right wing nutjob can't get a fair shake in TX right ? HA!!!

You might want to do some research and think before you type.

Since you are being intellectually dishonest and defaming Texans maybe we can sue you for 45 million dollars.
