The meat locker I use called me a couple weeks ago and said prices were going up by .30$/pound.

Maybe this is one of the reasons why beef prices are expected to increase.

It doesn't get better. I'm sure they put a bill to stop cow farts in their Green Bill, lol.
We buy sale weeks on burger and steaks. Paid 5.99/lb for NY Strip last week.
Olive oil, steak seasoning and then put in a Tupperware container and add some A1 and Worcestshire- marinate 4 hours. Cook to 110° internal at 250 °. Take it off grill and heat grill up to 550°. Get some nice grill marks on both sides. Let it rest 5 minutes then serve. Mmmm

Remember Dude coming on here and bragging about the sky high prices he is getting for his alfalfa hay. Those ranchers can not afford to keep their breeding cattle while feeding them that expensive alfalfa hay for the 40 months that take a calf from birth to a size that is ready to butcher. The ranchers are even selling off their breeding stock and this will cause a shortage later on.
They say the big price jump will be later this year to early next year due to a shortage of market ready beef cattle. Just another problem created by sleepy Joe and his handler idiots.

Forty months might be correct for grass feed Wagyu Cattle, but way to long for good quality Angus cattle. The vast majority of cattle are slaughter at less than 24 months.

Bluehair, you are going to have to consume some of those items in the freezer. Other wise forget about putting game animal meat in the freezer. I hope you plan to harvest a game animal!!!!!!

I’m getting more beef for my pasture than I can eat. Both the boys are moved away, so it’s just 2 of us. One is even off the payroll (but still on the cell phone plan).

The last two elk I killed I said would be my last, although the last one was under the deck in 2 1/2 hours solo. By the time you learn to do it quick, you’re too old too. Maybe just one more.

I burn candles (whatever that means) for my pet deer so haven’t killed one of those in years. The last one I killed was during halftime of the donkos game on the last day of the season. Hangin in the shop before the third quarter ended.
