Whether it harms or helps Trump's popularity, or harms or helps his chances in 2024, is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT.

If there is probable cause that he committed a crime, he should be investigated. If there is sufficient evidence that he committed a crime such that a conviction is plausible, he should be indicted. If the evidence is sufficient to convince a jury, he should be convicted.

It doesn't matter who "he/she" is. You can substitute any other person in the country for Trump, and the above still holds.

If political constraints are the main driver in deciding whether to prosecute or not prosecute someone, then you've become a banana republic.

Jan 6th Witnesses aren't most of them Republican that are telling the stories about the things they did see or hear that has cause to question if the back door is open.
Text and calls getting erase around that time frame . LOL i'm just guessing where there is a bit of information they didn't want bought to light of day must of been shopping lists. All you guys keep holding on to his coattail. I think his boat is sinking I saw a deal posted that said in 5 or 10 years NO-ONE will say the voted for him.

I'm not in love with Trump but I sure hope you enjoy your 9% inflation (not including fuel and groceries, of course, since that drives it way higher than double digit), your armed IRS audits, open borders, higher interest on loans to run an actual business, printing and spending money like no one will have to pay, failing electric grid, nefarious business dealings with hostile countries and all while falling off a bike. The list could go on and on and on but you get the point... or maybe you're buying into the blame and misdirect game.
Ask yourself this, "are people generally better off now or before". We know the answer so don't bother.

Bruce Reinhart helped Epstein get off on charges and was the Judge that signed off on the warrant. Trump wanted Christopher Wray fired and Merrick Garland was denied a seat on the supreme court. Seems a little fishy and you people cheering it on who's to say they won't do it to you one day. Me neither…… but I’m not in love with hardly anybody. I am however over the moon in love with what he wants for our Country and me personally. Like way over the moon. Since Reagan and before I can’t name a person I anywhere close to way over the moon for. He I couldn’t name anyone that could write a list of “wants” for government, right now, that I’d rather have than D. Trump, with all his worts, if necessary.

I don’t really know. My first reaction is to believe political witch hunts occur mostly when the opposition party holds one or both houses of congress.

Either that or the republicans are really bad at playing the game.

But what do I know - I only care about whether there are banana trees at Mar a Lago. I‘ve stayed at trump properties twice that I can remembr, but never there.

As partisan as it’s gotten I believe your correct regarding witch hunts and both houses but based the 317 to 3 ratio it does seem, if true, it’s pretty unnerving for us so called right of center folks.

And…… yes, republican’t are really bad at playing the game, hence a whole bunch of millions of us non-politicial types abandon the traditional republican’ts and elected a more agressive character to represent us. We liked the results of that change in our representation. Hope to get him back to playing the game in a better way for us again.

I have never been a huge fan of Trump, During the primary I got up every Wednesday hoping to find out he had lost. He was way down the list of the 17 hopefuls for me. Not the bottom, that was Jeb Bush, but real close. After he was elected he easily out preformed my expectations for his presidency. I have never bought into the argument that Trump is a threat to the democracy. Who is a greater threat to the democracy, Trump or the people that oppose him and what they have done to our once sterling institutions?

While that does sound like a kind and thoughtful act, I’m of the strong opinion that $50 going to get help D. Trump become President will help a Vet, homeless or not, more than my giving it directly to the homeless vet. I see it as a $50 investment in all homeless Vets and all Military families.

Typical comment and approach to our problems though……we both agree Vets need our help, we just disagree on the solution. It’s the same on every political issue that needs to be addressed, we all recognize where the problems and the needs are, the divide come to how we believe we should fix the problem.

What they plan to do is to increase the audits on middle income persons in order to squeeze every tax cent out of us. They have mentioned that banks will be required to report any transactions over the amount of 600 dollars in your banking account. You libs better report that used car you sold for a few thousand and pay your tax dollars on the income instead of sticking it into your bank account and screwing sleepy Joe out of a few tax dollars.

I pay all my taxes but got caught up in the understaffed IRS debacle a year ago when they returned an Estimated Tax Payment I had made with a note saying I'd overpaid. My accountant said it was their error and to not cash the IRS check and to send it back to them.

The IRS then realized I hadn't overpaid and said I owed them the amount I had already paid and subsequently returned their uncashed refund check. It took almost a year, including threatening Certified Mail letters saying they were going to seize my property, for them to get it all sorted out and realize the money they said they wanted had already been paid and then returned to them. This was due to their understaffing.

As a lawful taxpayer, and somebody that wants to make sure others pay their owed taxes as well, I support enforcement of our tax laws. I'm all for lowering taxes owed, but I'm not okay with tax cheats getting away with stealing from all of us knowing there aren't enough IRS agents to catch them.

PS. As a business owner, I've long been required to report to the IRS any payments to an individual or independent contractor greater than $600 in a year by filing a W-9. This isn't new, they're just trying to catch up to modern payment methods such as Venmo.
 
Grizzly you are going to find that a lot of Democrats-GOP and independents have been cheating small amounts on their tax returns. The fact the richest in the country was given a break in order to get two Democrat members of congress to vote for that latest bill is not going to set well with many voters and Democrats may have screwed themselves at the voting booth.

Just wait until the Democrat members of Congress tax your butt off like the Dems in CA. have done. Oops ! I forgot, here in CA. instead of raising taxes anymore, we have one of the highest already, they just tack on fees after fees and claim they have not raised taxes and fools believe them.

Here in CA. you have to have a smog test on your vehicles every 3 years. Most of the fees goes to the CA. Dept. of Transportation. Just a short time ago the fee was about 39 bucks. I had my car tested yesterday and the fee was now over 60 bucks. There are 14 million vehicles registered in CA.

If you go to a grocery store and buy your food, you must now pay 10 cents for every plastic bag they put your items in. When CA. first passed that fee, the 10 cents was earmarked to go to the state of CA. The merchants screamed loud enough that they get the fees now. Also if it had gone to the state the courts would have probably ruled it a illegal tax just like they did with the fire suppression fees of $135.00 per household in the CAL Fire areas. After paying for it 2-3 years ruled illegal tax but we never got our money back from the state.
Be very very careful what you wish for as the Dems have a record of enjoying spending your money in the taxes & fees they collect.

This IRS page was very recently taken down and is now unavailable... hmmm I wonder why? I know quite a few accountants and not one of them is required to carry a firearm or use deadly force in the course of doing their job. Hiring auditors & office staff to make the IRS more efficient..... riiiight!
