It will work out for me. I accept that government does not work entirely on my behalf--that there are others with interests different from my own who have the same rights as I do. I am OK with democracy and content to see either party in power so long as they respect the law and the Constitution.

Where government fails, it is because partisans nominate candidates willing to discount half of the nation they expect to represent in order to enrich themselves and hold on to power by any means possible. Moderation is critical in any democratic society.

Trump understands his obligation to America. If the accusation is true, then the documents taken must be recovered. If not, then Trump will bask a little longer in the limelight. But there is no need to rush to judgement. Let law enforcement do its job.

Good in theory, but Garland should.have appointed a special council and stayed out of it. He's just persecuting his political enemies now which sets a bad standard, and once a new standard is set it remains going forward. Future administrations no longer have to appoint special councils because this one did not, and it will be referenced from now until forever.
 
Indictment is inevitible…only question is when…the “election strategists“ are deciding that.

Now it appears Garland is going to release everything that was in that warrant and Trump can’t file to keep it sealed without damaging the credibility of everything he said over the last 2 days.

If you look at the list of lawsuits against Trump, who is filing them, and more importantly who is financing them, it becomes real clear, real quick
 
Our US Government is bound and determined to put in jail and financially ruin Trump and anyone associated with him…..everyone here knows that….we only differ on if it is right to do or not.
 
If nothing else the DNC has some footage of police car lights flashing in front of Trump's house for a campaign add against Trump. That will work with the average Democrat.

I’m just as nervous about law enforcement decisions being influenced by public opinion as I am political influence. In my experience, the public is mostly stupid.

You nailed it. People are so caught up in their side "winning" that they don't seem to care about the damage being done to all of us (left and right) when you allow these agencies/bureaucracies to run amuck.

It honestly amazes me that people are so caught up in their side prevailing that they lose sight of the biggest problem of all.

No matter what the material turns out to be, I cannot understand why he and his attorneys did not return it with the first batch confiscated. And how can they be surprised by the raid when they neglected to obey a subpoena to do so? Certainly, he must understand that all official correspondence belongs to the Office of the President, and not merely the man who fills that position.

Exactly right. Life is not perfect and justice does not always prevail, but that should be every American's goal. Of course, some do not even pretend to care about justice unless it suits their own interests. This hypocrisy is obvious to everyone, and so it becomes necessary to construct endless conspiracy theories to excuse one's blatantly dishonest behavior. Such is the society we live in where every snowflake believes himself a victim.

What is lost in the white noise is this: the boots on the ground agents are "just doing their job." The corruption and degradation will continue to be ordered by those in charge and it will be executed by those who are "just doing their job." If they were searching for nuke documents Garland would have had no problem stating so and supporting his statements at his presser. Instead, he does a zero information presser and then the DOJ/FBI proceed to leak stories to the American Pravda as they always have.

A pen register warrant was signed the same day at approximately the same time by the same judge. Pen registers allow for monitoring devices, wire taps etc. The raid was a cover for them to install monitoring devices, which is why they wanted the cameras off.

Not shocking the FBI would insert themselves into another election, they have done so every presidential since 2016.

So what you are implying is Trump took files home that have dirt on some Dems. Was Trump saving these files at home so he can then release them to the press sometime in the future (ie, a few days before election day 2024)?
 
Trump ordered a bunch of stuff declassified right before he left office (as noted in prior article linked in this really long-a$$ thread) because he could as the President. Deep staters and the rest can slow-walk it and did. Just so much wrong here. I'm more inclined to beleive Kash Patel than Merrick Garland.

Side note: Kash Patel was on Sebastian Gorka's show a couple months ago. He was doing high-level intelligence/counter-intellligence work under Trump and told Dr. Gorka that when he presented Trump with the top 20 (or whatever list) of Taliban/ISIS/terrorist baddies, he said, "Kill them."

I can tell you what prompted the raid.....I mean visit. Putin has been eating lots of beef stroganoff and it's the Whitehouse's secret recipe. The FBI put 2 and 2 together.
 
Crossfire Hurricane, someone mentioned in a post above. I saw a video last night and the premise was exactly that. The guys doing the video had some great thoughts and evidence, actual White House docs saying the president was declassifying that investigation. CBS news of all outlets, months ago, reported the same thing. The guys in the video stated those docs on the investigation were being slow rolled to get declassified even though trump put in the request. Long story short, those docs, if de-classified, would put A LOT of high ranking officials in a very tough spot. They were theorizing that is why they were doing the raid. Interestingly, today several reports are coming out saying the same thing.
 
Catherine Herridge CBS - just reported those CH docs were at least partially declassified. Doesn't appear they want them to get released.

So I might be a bit cynical, but given how much this is being talked about by both sides of aisle, what is the government trying to distract us from? What story is out there somewhere that raiding a former president seemed like good cover? Just makes me wonder.

I think I said like 4 pages ago thank goodness this will dominate the news cycle going into election season and not the crippling inflation, 85 thousand new irs agents or massive tax increases. But other then that who knows…
 
hillary had classified stuff on servers in her place, and she destroyed much of the data.....so, why was she not investigated for espionage as Trump was?

And, who do you suppose took/sent those documents to Mar A Lago? Yup, the fed shipped those documents.

I am not sure which is worse--taking classified information home illegally and then keeping it in the closet, or declassifying that top secret information so that it can be taken home legally and read at bedtime (probably the most fun Melania ever had in bed), even though declassification means that it becomes available to anyone who wants it.

Yeah, I feel better now, knowing Trump is keeping the nation's secrets safe.
