I know. I was one of those really, really lucky ones who hustled and found a job that included major health insurance. It was a priority for me. I know it's not for everybody though. A lot of people like to party late and sleep in. Or they need a big screen TV more than insurance. I was pretty special and lucky.

Define mandated. We were required to wear leather work boots and gloves, but we had to buy our own. They sold gloves in the office at their cost.
In the construction biz, you had to supply the safety equipment we mandated by policy (usually mirroring OSHA or MSHA regs). I don’t remember when that became the law of the land, but it wasn’t always the case.
