Book Cliffs Little Creeks South Bison

I just got a call that my little brother is the next in line for a surrendered muzzleloader cow bison permit that runs Sept 26-Oct 7. I realize this area is almost entirely roadless, and was wondering if anyone knew of any packing services to help get a bison out in the case we’re successful. When I was applying for him, I didn’t mean to apply for the roadless, but I just selected one in a hurry because I didn’t think there was a chance in hell he’d draw anything with 3 points.

We have until 5 on Monday to decide on whether he takes the tag or not.

If You're hunting The Roadless You'd Need The Packer/Horses Right There Near You!

Most Of The Locals That Guide Are Booked Up But There Still Might Be Somebody That Might Be able To Help You!

That’s kind of what I figured. I know it will probably be tough to line something out last minute, but hopefully I can figure something out.

Hey CF!

You Might Check With These Guys:

I contacted them, and they won’t be down there during this particular hunt. I appreciate the recommendation though!

I’ve contacted a few and think I have it worked out, but after checking his grades I’m not sure we’ll be accepting the tag. It seems crazy to turn the tag down when he has so few points, but my deal has always been that I’d pay for and take him on all his hunts so long as he did alright in school.

Why are good grades held in such high regard? Most of the wealthiest, most successful people I know are high school drop outs.

He's got the rest of his life to try and impress someone with high academic scores, he may never have a bison tag again.

I think you had a post about a cow bison hunt that ignited your outdoor passion. I get grades aren't the most important thing in life. But commitment and responsibility are. That is totally awesome that you have taken your little bro under your wing. It might also be a turning point for him. Talk to you soon buddy. Be safe.

I had a band teacher in 8th grade that gave me a D and said the phrase “the road to hell is paved with good intentions”

I learned from him and graduated with a 4.0. Sometimes I am grateful for life lessons. Sometimes not.

We decided to take the tag. I’m guided a hunt now that will finish up Thursday, and then we’ll head out there Friday. The hunt starts Monday the 26th. If anyone has any info on where to start looking I would appreciate any help I can get.
