Just wanted to say thanks to Brian and all the members here. You guys have been an invaluable source of information. Being a NR from the deep south, I started buying points for my son when he turned 11. We burned them this year on a unit with a decent amount of public and fairly large population. Camped out the eve before, and got on this fellow an hour after legal light opening morning. Hated to tag out 1h into the hunt, but I'm not sure we could have turned one up any prettier. Son is ecstatic, and we have had a blast. Going to sightsee in Yellowstone for the rest of the week.

13.5in, decent mass. 74in by my tape. Took him to Charlie in Laramie for the mount based on recommendations here. Beautiful land you guys have here, and thank you again!

Congrats on a great experience & a nice goat too! Was special so enjoy the memories with your boy & the mount will make it extra sweet. The best memories are in the field with the boys. Saved up points years ago for my son's senior year; he was able to hunt a good unit and take his best buck. Helped my army boy hang it in his place this summer.

Well... back to Ft Collins for the flight out tomorrow from Denver. We definitely got a taste of Wyoming! Hit Tetons, Yellowstone, over the Bighorns to Devils tower, Rushmore. Happy to support local businesses and hotels for the week! You guys are blessed! (maybe not so much in the winter tho :) ) won't say which hotel we used as ground zero to debone and trim meat to get us under the 50lb airline weight limit :)

Congratulations to your son. Sounds like a trip of a lifetime.
Reminds me of when I took my daughter to college in Bozeman (probably around 8 years ago). My son also came along who was 5 years younger than her. Got them each 2 doe antelope tags. I knew we would have a few days before she could move into the dorms. So I brought my processing gear. Laid plastic over the table in the Best Western hotel and cut, wrapped, vacuumed sealed all the antelope. Found a meat locker west of town and froze everything for the trip home 6 days later.
