DB’s

Azzhats prolly had their eye on that buck, saw it get shot, decided they were entitled to it because they had a past with it. Or….they happened upon the hunters camp and decided that was the best they could do and hauled it off….Either way, they are the United douche bags of America. I hope his story gets enough exposure to catch the slob thief/thieves. I’d love to see him get the buck back.

Two sides to every story. These guys are not telling the whole story. But I don’t care, we’ve been busy fleshing mt goat hides. **** the drama

Sounds like you know who the other party is , probably a flat brimmer needing some notoriety, and we all know where the flat brimmers reside so I’m sure they’ll meet again !!

Saw this story! Was hoping someone would post it up. No matter what happened nothing should justify stealing another man's animal. Hope they catch the POS!!!
Catch? Good luck catching them without being bit. Likely the culprits will not be taken alive. Some wild Wild West chit going on…

The most likely scenario, by far, is a bear took his stuff. Most likely the same bear that he says came to his tent at night. I would imagine his stuff, the head and the cape are not far away just a bit chewed on. Its possible a person took them but that possibility is pretty far down on my list of most likely scenarios.

The kuiu pack says it all what type of individual we are dealing with here.

I believe at this point the hunter should be charged with wanton waste. He didn’t come prepared to haul out his deer. You can easily haul out a mule deer and camp in one trip.

Fine the bastard!

This is nuts! How can anyone feel comfortable doing that? Its not like you could walk around town showing it off or show family and friends. They would have to know people will see the story of it being stolen. Dirt Bags for sure. Unless there is more to the story we are not hearing about. Hate even thinking about it that way. Hope that more comes out either way just to put to bed all the speculation.

I say pine Martin because their sneaky little bastards and they are strong for their size and because there are a bunch of them in that region. I shot a deer in that area once and hung it inside a horse trailer and one ate most of a hind quarter in one night I know what it was cause I saw it climb out of the horse trailer in the morning

I won’t argue that. I think the WYGFD needs to look into this as wanton waste. He was in a big hurry to tell all his buddies about his buck and he didn’t even haul it off the mountain.

Hunting an area you are not prepared to haul an animal out should be a crime.

It is I believe the rule is 72 hrs unless its been changed

All I can find now about it is "reasonable effort" another very broad grey area by the game and fish.

I read the article on another site and figured bear also. But the dude claims the knots I the rope were untied???

If it was a person that took it though, that sucks.

Ok I watched the videos...although I will say it wasn't a very valiant effort of getting the meat off of the ground, it worked, I never saw any mention of losing that meat.

I guess it's fair ??? to assume he put the same effort into how he hung the head, straps etc. I can't judge.

SS, I never saw where he made more effort in telling his buddies than there was in retrieving the animal so I must assume this is the extra knowledge of another side to the story???

Otherwise I will assume you are just trolling. Even though that would be so far out of character for you...

Post what you know SS, don't be scared, who are you protecting?

Oh and SS, after watching the video, I don't like the dude either..

It’s a small world out there. As far as posting the story it’s not mine to tell.

There are more important things to do right now. Dry out gear. Get snacks for the next trip. Wheels up on Friday again. If it was winter time maybe I would give a little bit more effort…

You forgot....

To add.Take time to post just enough to seem like you may possibly know something more about this story but not actually post anything at all about the story and beg out by saying it's not your story and you're too busy to...blah, blah, blah...

??

Have a good one SS, good luck on the rest of your hunts.

Oh no some Wyoming resident stole our mountain goat….carcass!

Let’s get a reporter over here.

Or maybe just move on and use it as a life lesson.

Huntindad you’re too invested in this story. And it only takes 30 secs to make a post here. But I’m not going to post other peoples business unless it affects my business.

So yeah I don’t give a ****…

Zero investment....unfortunately I'm at work.?

ETA: looks like a steak or two left on the goat...I declare wanton waste.

If this guy hung it up as high as he hung the meat in the video... it was at eye level to a large bear. If he couldn't see any bear tracks did he see boot tracks? Was his only "evidence" of theft, knots that were untied? I've seen bears do some crazy chit to stuff.

That deer isn't that big. Sorta presumptuous that someone would be that attached to it if they didn't shoot it. I mean its not UT, but steal a 180" deer 8 miles in?

Why would someone steal deer meat on purpose? I mean, even meth heads don't hit freezers looking for meat when they break into houses.

This story reminds me of the gal that shot a "wolf" pup recently. Jump to conclusions and post on social media without a lot of thought. IMO all evidence points to the bear that came to his camp that night to get the rest of the meat.

Just my opinion, but I think that same bear that he foolishly shot through his tent to scare off, took his deer. From all the clues, I'd guess that it wouldn't have to be too far away for that guy not to find it.

This story is evolving, I saw his first post on Facebook saying that he hauled the head and horns out first to the truck. He then went back to get the meat and upon returning the head and horns were gone. He got blasted for taking the head out first, and changed his story.

Why would some one dyck around untieing knots and not just use a knife, as far as shooting the tent it looked a little far back in “no man’s land “. I’d put my money on his bear buddy drug it off somewhere.

What a jerk comment

I'm gonna say it was a pine Martin lol
They are strong little buggers, had one steal a mallard and drag it like 8 yards before my buddy is yelling that the dead duck is moving haha ? so funny. They are great vicious little critters

You must be new here. Please leave your feelings at the door. The only jerk here is the “hunter” accusing others of stealing his buck when it’s obvious it was a bear or other predator. Maybe kuiu could come out with some Kleenex so you can wipe the tears from your eyes.
Its funny you say leave your feelings at the door but you sure seem to have been offended by the comment. So maybe you need to dry your insecure eyes. Its jerks like you that make hunting unenjoyable these days. Its highly unlikely that a critter is going to run off with his rack. Its obvious you have not spent much time in the field. KMA

That’s cute you think you could offend me. I didn’t know how much power I wield over you that I actually make your hobby “unenjoyable”. That’s hilarious and sad at the same time. I can tell you’re the sensitive type so I’ll let you believe that someone stole that rack. All good? Or do you need a hug too? You’ll need a hug after we compare how many days a field I spend compared to you. Maybe your boss can console you after when you ask for 3x the time off you currently get ??
