I acquired a OTC archery elk tag for an area I know perty good.
I started setting a few cam’s up in late spring early summer.

If you’re like me you read this far and swipe fast to get to the kill picture.. then read the story… if you’re different I applaud you.!

Luck had my side and I drew an early October hunt for the same area.

I scouted very hard and passed a few 350 type bulls the first week of the the hunt. Chasing a big one…

Ended up killing on the second to last day with good help and better people.

Uh, If that's a small one to you, we can no longer be friends. LMAO.

Looks like a fine bull to me and congratulations are in order for your efforts and ultimate success! Well done, sir!

Caveats that I have learned on this hunt.. hunt big bulls in September with a bow WHENEVER possible. I thought this going into this hunt.
I’m doubled down on this thought now.
I walked away from this year with the same understanding.

That bull is so small he still has his calf spots on him!!! LOL!

Just kidding, that's a dandy and congrats on your "small" bull!

You did well and had a great experience through the whole process. What great memories to get you through cold winter nights! Congrats!
