Hey guys,

My lifelong friend asked me to be his best man for his wedding coming up this fall and I was curious is anyone had any memorable trips or ideas they would like to share. We are from the West Texas area and grew up doing anything outdoors. Thanks for any input

I guess a big part of it depends on the number of guys you will have with you for the day/night? For mine we did an afternoon trap shooting event (instead of golfing) that was pretty fun and then rented a bus and bar hopped for the evening/night. I've never been on a party bus where I didn't have a ton of fun. With that said you need to know the crowd I guess.. Rowdy guys=bus not a good idea.

My brother rounded up a half dozen boats and we went fishing for the day and then.... you guessed it, bussed around small towns. The key for me in planning the two that I planned were safe rides home or places to stay for the group. Last thing you want is someone making a bad decision and getting hurt or worse just a few weeks away from your buddy's big day!

Thanks for the ideas everyone haha definitely some winners. There will only be about 4-5 close friends and we all went through college together so the crazy party phase has kind of fizzled (mostly due to our bodies rejecting alcohol now)and I was trying to think of a cool hunting trip. Not that there wont be whiskey at the end of the day...

Camp out with wild and exotic animals at the Fossil Rim Wildlife Center in Glen Rose. The 1,800-acre center is home to over 1,100 animals and 50 species of native and non-native animals.

Go to Texas. Shoot some hogs, or axis, or really whatever you can think of depending on your budget. I know some great outfitters both free range and high fence that you guys would have a blast with. Let me know if you're interested.

Thanks!
We are currently in the West Texas Area, are any of your outfitters near that area? We have a lease with hogs and whitetail on it but I like the Axis idea. Also we've been into quail/pheasant hunting lately, but after hearing some peoples experience with bird hunting outfitters I would have to have some great recommendations on a particular outfitter to do bird hunting.

Think I'd get hold of the CandyMan & See if He'd let you Tour his Mansion for a few days!

I know so many people in so many places
They make allot of money but they got sad faces

It Ain't Easy being Me!:D:D:D

I know an outfitter that does a lot of bird hunting. He runs hunts on different ranches all throughout the state. I'll text him and see what he has available in the West Texas area.

Being in Texas, couldn't y'all go shoot some pigs... at night... with ARs... from helicopters.?? I mean, no limit, rapid fire, and its a helicopter..!!

Good luck.!!

Pretty inexpensive and a great time- https://sharkabrah.com/

Tristan, the owner, is a great guy and will make it a fun time. My family did a trip this past August and caught an 10' tiger. Where he fishes puts you within a short drive to Corpus so plenty of other activities you could combine it with.

We stayed at this place. https://www.juicysairstreamretreat.com/
It was nice and provided plenty of room for everyone. The only downside is it's about an hour drive to the shark fishing. The upside is you are walking distance to a great pier.

Good luck with the planning.

Almost all the bachelor parties were done in rented houses by the lake. And we always had fun swimming in a race before we got drunk. Of course, we didn't swim drunk because it's dangerous. And then we turned on loud music, competed in strength, tried arm wrestling duels, and so on. It's always fun. When I was chosen best man, I found a resource with a bunch of ideas for parties. On https://adultpartythemes.com/ideas/what-to-wear-to-a-rave, there are a lot of articles about parties of different formats. For example, you can find ideas for a bachelor party, Halloween, Christmas, birthday, and anything else.
Hey, do you guys do coming out parties for when you get your first Creedmoor or skeet gun?
