Hi all what is the best Hotel close to the Expo? I need a place where Mrs Sikora
can get a ton of Pampering like Spa massages, skin treatments, body wraps, excellent restaurants etc etc! She takes such great care of all our family and Well let’s cut to the chase She’s married to me and she deserves a break to have someone taking excellent care of Her! Now if you have to check with your wives that might be the better choice for the info! Now she might not want to go to SLC. I know she would like to go back to New Orleans, or a trip to Mexico. I not a fan of going somewhere the Cartel might shoot us! I know for sure she wants to go to Hawaii but 1st Class Non-Stop tickets are way out of my price range and sitting in coach with 2 or 3 stops is God awful! Ive been to Hawaii 4 times but our Boss receive free trips from the Suppliers. Once we were able to sit in 1st class with a straight 10 hr flight and I was awesome!
Do the Airlines still give frequent flyer miles that can be sold to others?

Thanks

3 yrs of my life spent here building it, they will definitely pamper her…

Now that’s an awesome place. You do good work Tikka

Tikka you built that place way to well!
No reservations at the Deer Valley during the Expo dates I’m going to say that’s where all the heavy hitters are staying that are going to the Expo. No reservations at the other places owned by that company I think for the month of February as far as I saw.
But that Deer Creek is PUSS……….!

Never stay down town, I would guess the best Hotels, that offer the services you’re looking for are the same ones that offer the services in other cities. While this list includes hotels with less services, the best hotels in other cities are likely the same in Salt Lake.

Just a guess of course.

Nice hotels there Lumpy I’ll check them out

Ya they have a little bit of money…
I’m a superintendent for GC so I can’t claim any of the good craftsmanship in that place…

I can think of no better way to show your love for your wife than to take her to a Hunting expo.
I’m not sure if they score high enough to make Boone and Crockett but the folks that get one claim they at least qualify as honorable mention. I’m referring to the foot message booth at the Expo, so it might be worth a try, if you’re in the neighborhood.

The Hyatt Regency Salt Lake City and Marriott Downtown at City Creek would be decent options to stay if they have openings. They are decent hotels that are literally right across the street from the Salt Palace.

I have no idea if they have spa treatments, but it’s SLC, there are places to get spa treatments.

If you’re looking for a good place for the wife to kill time, the idea of staying in Park City and you driving (or getting an Uber) down to the expo is your best bet. Lots to do in Park City for the Mrs, including plenty of overpriced, ritzy spas and shopping opportunities.

Food in both Park City and SLC now are great with tons of options.

Anyone headed to the expo from out of town, go try out Hall Pass down at Gateway for food. It’s a good hall concept with tons of options and everything I’ve had there is fantastic. It makes going with a group nice as you can get a variety of foods and seating isn’t as restrictive as at a sit-down restaurant. Don’t think college dorm food hall type food, it’s honestly really good. The hot lobster roll (not be confused with the cold option) is the best lobster roll I’ve had anywhere.

Rich’s Burgers on 3rd South is an incredible burger. There are more “famous” burger places like Lucky 13 and others, but Rich’s is my favorite burger anywhere.

Red Iguana is a must if you want Mexican food.

Now I’m hungry…

What has happened to all the events that used to surround the expo. Used to be kickoff parties, movie nights, wrap up parties,.etc in the days leading up to the expo. None of that happens anymore.

Used to be some entertainment and gathering aspects to the Expo, now it's just give us your money and let us try to sell you stuff.

Not as fun as it used to be.

Did you mean the flat brim sausage fest?

Sausage fest or not, it’s where I make my annual purchase of Salsa spice mix! I’m going.

Whatever you want to call it. Mainly the Utah folks used to try and make the week entertaining and a chance for hunters to hang out outside of the expo. None of that happens anymore, don't know why.

Trying to keep a lower profile before being awarded expo tags or what?

I’m pretty sure @smokepolejohnson is in charge of the anniversary party of the fire bull!
SS! Wouldn’t miss it for the world. LoL. Still haven’t heard any of the details of the Mt. OPs gym take over yet. or the Cam Hanes 5K midget waddle. If the Montage is all booked up i may have to stay at the Rescue Mission Homeless Shelter on 4th west or Pioneer park is nice this time of year, great late season location to test the Kifaru hot tent at. Either would be less cringe than the Hush podcast couch at his point. Should be a great event to help out Utah wildlife allegedly.

Joe.

You've been a member for years. No expo talk before first of the year!!!!

Now, check the Anniversary Inn. Momma might like?

But, like others say, Park City is the "Yuppie":capital of Utah.

Other than High West, I've got no comments.

You'd be better off lighting $100 bills on fire than the expo, but if your flat brim, "dude, bro, epic" is dying for the expo, the green pig is a fun bar

Lumpy, my wife would to get that stuff all the time but she hasn't found it in awhile...
You get it at the expo?
They have had a booth at the Expo for every year that I can remember. It’s has been in the main hall, I’d say the second row in, About half way between the Mule Deer Foundation booth and the Mossback booth.

There is a large variety of products and services displayed and offered at the Expo besides Salsa mix and foot massages. Tents, optics, clothing, furniture, firearms, archery, jewelry, knives, freeze dried, booking agents, outfitters, etc.

If you hunt or would like to start hunting, DYI or guided, young or seasoned, they Expo has products and services that address those interest. The newest innovations to the old reliable stuff is there in large abundance. There may be large hunting conventions somewhere in the US, maybe the one in Pennsylvania or the SCI in Dallas Tx. but Utah Hunting Expo holds it own with the biggest and the best.

I've had the same couple come and stay @ my home about 30 miles North of the SPalace and Expo. For 5 out of the last 6 years, no one came out the Covid year.

They drive from the mid-west.

She takes my JP Wrangler up skiing Snowbasin and Powder Mountain, and he takes their vehicle to the Expo.

It's great as we visit then we don't really see each other for the rest of the day!

Sorry I can't be of more help Joe.

In the past there has been an event Wednesday night, movie night or kickoff party or whatever not so this year. Yes the usual Thurs-Sat expo events remain but they are all expo based. IE give us lots of money.

Not as fun, social, or hunting community based as in the past.

Are you trying to tell me that an American Idol singer and Chris Ledoux kid aren't doing it for you?

Then my friend, you OBVIOUSLY haven't seen the gold plated speaker lineup.

Gov Cox?
Rep Moore?
USDA guy?

Dude, just thinking about a night of epicness and a concert from an American Idol contestant makes me want to throw my $150 First Lite undies on stage, and toss repetitive $5 bills?

Want a real laugh. The first ads for the expo, the entertainment and speakers were(to be announced later).

So they googled "singers who hunt", and found Hunter Girl, from American Idol and then called Country Joe to have him ask Ned if he'd ride down for a night.

These are the same events as in the past.
