MY HUNTIN PARDNER JUST BOUGHT A HOME IN CHEYENNE WYOMING. (1-2-2023). WILL HE BE A RESIDENT BY OCT 15, AND ABLE TO GET A UNIT 7 TAG ??? ( RIFLE TAG) NOT SURE WHAT THE DIFFICULTY IS FOR A RESIDENT TO DRAW A UNIT SEVEN BULL TAG. I KNOW IT TAKES 13 POINTS FOR A NON RES. THANKS FOR YOUR ADVICE...............................YD.
 
No points as a resident so he would actually have a better chance to burn them this year and hunt it as a NR (what he’s legally supposed to do anyhow) then next year he’ll have a 1:4-1:5 chance every year as a resident.
 
What do you mean when you say he will be a resident by October 15? Are you saying he won't actually be living there until October 15?

Great kid or not....the residency requirements might be difficult......with what you describe.....waiting for Buzz....

Yeah he needs to actually read the residency requirements for Wyoming, he will need to live here for at least 6 months after buying that house.
Why area 7? Never mind , let him apply there.

"Wyoming law sets the rules to qualify for any resident game or fish license, preference point, permit or tag. The law requires that an individual must live in an established, fixed and permanent home (domicile) in Wyoming for no less than one full year before they apply for or purchase a resident license. Once a person has established residency to apply for or buy licenses, in order to keep it, he or she has to live in Wyoming for at least 180 days total during the calendar year."

Your buddy is going to have a very difficult time establishing his first year of residency. I would have him contact Mike Choma in Casper at the District G&F office to make sure about the requirements under regulation.
