I have seen several threads on units and outfitters so this is a bit redundant but why not ask again to help sooth my inquiring mind. I have 17 NR points and want to burn them and hunt for a trophy coues 110-120 type of deer). Some may say go mule deer hunting with that many and I’m open to suggestions (would hane to hane the potential foe 190” or better bucks) but right now I’m leaning towards a coues deer hunt. 23 late hunt with AZ Ground Pounders have come up as a top option. Any other outfitters (G3 outfitters??) or units that I should be looking at. Thanks for the input.

Going for a 110-120 Coues is like saying you are hunting for 220-240 mule deer. There aren't trophy hunts for Coues in AZ. The late hunts are pre-rut at best. You can kill a big deer just as easy in October or November, thats why people are recommending to put in for mule deer. If you want a 110-120 go to Mexico. Your money would give you much better odds at a large Coues. I've hunted a lot of Coues units here and finding a buck over 110 is a very hard thing to do, even with a guide.

You're gonna have much higher odds at a 110+ buck and it's gonna be cheaper to do it doing a coues hunt in Mexico. (By much higher odds I'm not saying high odds just that you're much more likely to find a buck like that on a good ranch in mexico) but if you're going all in I couldn't think of a better chance at one in az than unit 23 with ground pounders. Maybe could turn one up in 27 with premier outfitters.

Your points are worth the equivalent of a $5000 coues hunt in MX (I would argue the MX hunt is much better then AZ as it’ll be rut dates) or the equivalent of a $20,000 deer hunt if you use them for mule deer. I guess what I’m trying to say is you can buy a big coues deer a lot cheaper then a big mule deer so I’d use the points toward the latter.
