Does this buck break 190?

At first glance, my guess is he makes 190. Zero hesitation to shoot him opening morning in a 10PP area with my tag. If I'm guiding, I tell my hunter he is a clean typical over 180" and let him decide.

I think he makes it, add a bit to his beams and 1’s and you’ve got something really special! It’s hard to get it all! In my opinion he’s heavy, great back end and hard to beat those 4’s.he’s a no talk kill now buck under those circumstances.

Awesome buck! I don't think he breaks 190. He's not too far off though I'd say. I would be pulling the trigger.

If only that was my problem every hunting season. Wondering if a beautiful buck like that may or may not be 190, and whether or not to shoot. ???

Shooting him on any unit without any hesitation, except maybe the AZ Strip or Henrys/Pauns/Oak Creek and I have verified with my own eyes that there might be a bigger typical or a monster with trash still walking.

He is a beautiful typical and I couldn't care less about score.

I think PRCnut hit it on the head. Main beams appear short in the photo. Great looking deer though. Hope he lives through this winter.

Beautiful Buck but as others have mentioned I think he will fall a little short of 190. High 180’s main beam just needs to be a little longer, he would be hard to pass unless you knew of better bucks in the area.

After a closer look his main beams and inside spread do look pretty weak. What are you guessing on the mains? 21ish? Maybe he is mid to high 180s buck.

Great looking deer!

I have 24 PP in CO and would be happy to shoot that deer at first light on opening morning.

184

Main beams are short, inside spread won't be great, long tines, good symmetry, 4 inches of eye guards.

If you haven't scouted something bigger he would be tough to pass.

I would shoot that buck 1st morning of any hunt. I think he will break 190" and very possibly could net over 190". I think his big body and mass make his tines looks smaller than they are. Does Nontypical have the sheds?

Just one old dudes opinion but I think he's well north of 180" but I couldn't be positive he's breaking 190'. I'll bet he looks really good in real life.

Ya, unless I knew there was a huntable population of bigger bucks around, I'd drop the hammer on that clean trophy and score be damned.

Zeke
There’s not a lot of real estate between well north of 180” and 190” ???

I think he's right there at 190 or just shy. That pic was taken last winter; I think he was 6. Maybe 7. I saw this buck 2 previous years but I can't remember if it was over a 3 year period or 2 consecutive years. Never saw him this winter; but that doesn't mean he's not around.

Here he is in 2020; first year I saw him. He looks like a 4 yr old to me based on his rack mostly. Saw him twice that winter.

Here he is the year after that. His rack is much larger and maybe even bigger than the following year. My camera had inadvertently gotten switched to a lower quality setting without me realizing it. That's the reason for the lower quality pics. It was very hard to get pics of this buck because he would rarely look my way. He sure looks big from behind!! I'm guessing he's 5? But maybe 6??

Lots of "point shaving" going on in this thread. That's a shooter on day 1. I've waited a lot longer than 10 years, and not shot a buck of that caliber.
Great pictures nontypical, thanks!

He's a great buck. I think he's right at 190. You have to see him in person to get a good perspective. I would shoot him, no hesitation. And if he is going away, I'd likely get darned excited trying to get him lined up in the scope.

I personally think he's closer to 180 than 190 but I'm still shooting on a 10 point unit. My boys buck was right at 170 and they look similar to me other than the buck you posted has more mass

Yep he is a taker and he will go a little over 180. I think his main beams are too short to make 190.
