We all have to follow the exact same rules. I hope they nail him for this! He doesn't really deserve any mercy. What a complete idiot. With the tech we have these days on phones, there really is no excuse for not knowing where you are. I guess he cares more about getting "content" than following rules.

No. He didn't. You literally tell the kid let's go hunt another deer.

That buck isn't the last deer on earth.

Did the kid pack his bags and go home after that deer was shot? I sure hope not.

We wonder why fewer kids are getting into hunting? It might not be all of the competition and diminishing opportunity, and shot deer. It very well could be how we are, or are not, mentoring them to deal with the highs and lows of hunting.

I had a similar situation my first year hunting back in 1992. I had a thousand lakes limited entry deer tag in Utah. I shot and missed a nice buck a couple times as it ran over a ridge. Later, as we were cooking lunch a hunter and his guide pulled up to talk. They watched me shoot and miss the buck. The hunter was going to shoot it when the guide pulled his gun away and said, there's no way I'm going to let you shoot that deer out from under a kid. I learned a lot about sportsmanship and hunter etiquette. I'm not sure who the guide was. I'd love to rehash that story with him some day.

Actually I think you and a few others are proving my point for me.

Keep things positive for child hunters , no matter what happens.
 
Tristate reminds me a lot of myself in my late teens-early 20’s. I had way too much time on my hands and would intentionally be confrontational on social media to get a rise out of people. The difference is that I grew out of it, and he’s in his (50’s?) and still going at it. I don’t even think he believes half the BS he types, he just knows it’s going to get people riled up.

I've watched this dudes YT videos for a long time. I never cared for the arrogance I would sometimes notice in him, but I always respected his determination and work ethic.

That is all gone now... Especially given his repeated charges, I hope he has the book thrown at him.

Even a kid can figure out pretty quickly he doesn't ever want to risk a felony record.

Have you talked to the kid? How do you know his hunt wasn’t ruined?

I’ve went on hunts where if I saw a person or even sign of people would have ruined the hunt.

Learn how to read sister. You and the rest of this squad got their panties twisted because I care about keeping a kid in the hunting game. I guess kids hunting just pi55e5 people like you off.
 
Who gives a Rats Azz if it was a kid an old man or a woman hunting the buck !! He apparently did NOT have permission to be hunting that property Period !! He seems to think NO HUNTING NO TRESPASSING signs don't apply to him because he has a camera & that is how he makes his living. Looks like the Utah Fish & Game got him on a trespass violation back in 2017 , that citation resulted in a 22 month loss of license . Guess he got caught on the same property back in 2015 , claimed there were NO signs any where , but apparently did not bother to check to make sure. I have said many many times these guys that are caught need to do solid jail time pay charged as a Felony . Pay huge fines loose all the gear they had when the crime took place, lifetime loss of all hunting fishing & trapping privileges & maybe that will keep a few from repeating

I am slightly conflicted here…..

I agree with Tri’s point that this should not have “ruined” this kids hunt. And his parents/uncles/brothers/sisters what ever should have made sure that this act did not dissuade this child from enjoying the hunt.

On the other hand, I don’t know all the particulars around it, and maybe this kid won’t have this tag ever again…… and potentially it was the largest deer in the area, and having it locked down as the only “authorized” Hunter did mess his hunt up.

Regardless, this d1ckweed broke the law, and this youth’s hunt was affected. And he should be the last person this jury hears from.

Yeah, they have put the full court press on when it comes to the gram too. Charity hunts etc...

If they were smart they would pull anything to do with Erick off of any social media accounts they have. Make like he's not even a part of the business. Silent partner, so to speak. But that dudes look at me personality won't allow it and I think it will sink the business. And I don't mind that..
 
My brother has just about convinced me that the problem is sponsored hunters, asserting that we just need to stop watching them. I am certainly done watching guys blow their bugles, but I can never get enough duck calls, lol. I think there are some good people out there that get sponsors, in one form or another, but I agree that there is a problem.

Unfortunately, when the mortgage comes due, and it's paid from IG,YT,etc solely, then the pressure gets ramped up.

I don't watch much anymore. In fact the ones I do watch are usually just dudes that post last year's hunts, generally in areas I hunt.

I think though, most have a "jump the shark" moment.

I thought BRO first multiple state, daily videos was pretty interesting. Their old videos were good too. Then, then they had HUSH come hang, and overnight it's fishing, turkey hunting etc.

Jacobsen started the stupid contest hunting videos.

Newberg started not being in his own videos

HUSH, well, HUSH was created.

Gritty got chased off by Snyder

I agree there are some dudes just posting vids, but more and more monetization is the point, not the subject, and that, I believe, is why the increase in this kinda crap.
