Mountain biking

I’ve done it for 40 years. Great cardio and leg muscular training, but it requires some time. I enjoy it, for me it is not as tedious as some other forms of keeping in shape. A few years ago (several) I was passed by one of the most beautiful women I’ve seen ( if you know what I mean, great view), anyway I lost my train of thought.

I do it a fair amount. In certain areas they are great for hunting also, roads behind closed gates for fire danger etc. You can get away from most people on foot in 30 min of peddling.
Kinda a bonus I guess. Not sure how much I could Use it for hunting but even a couple times could come on clutch.

There are two kinds of mountain bikers, traditionalist and e-bikers. I prefer the workouts from traditional mountain biking. Riding an e-bike is much easier. If I was looking at a bike for hunting, I'd go with an e-bike. Like hunting gear, bikes range from several hundred dollars to upwards of 10k. You get what you pay for.

I don't get out as much as I used to when I was the park manager at Dead Horse Point State Park near Moab. Personally, I'm opposed to clipping into the pedals. I've rescued over a hundred mountain bikers in my career and the vast majority were clipped in and couldn't get out in time to save a hip, leg, or arm. I know it is more efficient, until it isn't.

I don’t use one for hunting, but I’m a mountain biker. Done a few races, an off road triathlon. I like riding. Need to do more of it actually. It’s a lot easier on the knees than running. It’s a good addition to the other exercise options. I say do it.

I’m more thinking it will be fun for my boy and I. He loves hauling absolute butt on his bike and thought it may be fun too.

My wife and I ride all the time. We blew the check book up last year and bought Specialized e-bikes. You can get a workout if that’s what you want, or just go faster and see more. AWESOME FUN!
