Your last hunt … where and for what?

I would love to have a rematch in Alaska for Yukon Moose. Went a few years ago, and went 1 for 2. Should have been 2 for 2 but our bush pilot couldn't get in due to weather and we couldn't afford to lose meat to spoilage.

Hunt a bomber bird hatch year in Idaho for Chukars, Huns, and Quail with my pointers. I'm talkin 25+ Covey days

If I could have a chance at limiting on all 3 species each day and maybe throw in a couple grouse to boot that would be more amazing to me than anything with horns or antlers!

My last hunt would be a safari in Africa. Elephant and buffalo, all you can shoot. If I'm going down, it include feeding the population of a small country. I'm pretty satisfied in all the experiences I've had in NA. A polar bear hunt might be cool, but I'd rather chose Africa. Driving around in a truck, with a cooler in the back has is far more appealing than hiking hard and "earning" an animal.

I’ve been on a lot of sheep hunts in my life, none changed my life. How about you @Bambistew ?
I totally live a new philosophy after going on my first sheep hunt... I no longer train for sheep hunting. So, I guess you could say it did change my life! I now have more time to do the things I enjoy, like drink beer, sit on the couch and watch TV and count the money didn't spend on matching Kuiu pajamas.

You also missed the belt buckles that the various orgs give out as awards. Those are probably the weirdest things I've ever seen, but who could forget Legacy Stones. Immortalize your sheep hunting experience by engraving a rock and leaving it where the monarch fell! Short lived fad, surprisingly.

Rocky mountain bighorn in the Rio Grande Gorge in NM to complete my slam, but not before I buy a new matching outfit... :)

Just remember, you have to be very careful the way you word your request to the genie. ?

I honestly think a hunt in my favorite place I grew up and bringing back memories with family and friends still left and no self induced pressure would be a more enjoyable last hunt than checking off some bucket list hunt.

If I am still fit enough when this wish is granted, then a 21 day back pack stone sheep hunt, with extra tags for the opportunistic grizzly, moose. etc.

If this wish isn't granted in the next few years, then it will have to be a full bag Tanzania hunt, including elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. Watching the sunset behind a full black maned lion I just took while on foot would be absolutely sublime.

The same archery mulie hunt I do every year - in the same basins.

Only problem is I would have to negotiate in my 25ish nights scouting ? = as to just get handed a buck is well boring. Always said finding em is better than hunting em….

Polar bear with a bow, no gun back up. Fred Bear style. If it’s going to be my last I want stakes of it actually maybe being the last thing I ever attempt

A elk hunting trip with sons and a few hunting buddies in the back county. Horse back in and staying in the wall tents. Awesome 10 days there!!!

Alaska moose is right up there on the bucket list.

Let’s say you’ve found a bottle with a genie in it. The genie has good news and bad. The bad news is, your hunting days have come to an end :(, BUT the good news is, you get one final 10 day hunt anywhere and for anything . And the anything hasn’t been hunted in the anywhere for 5 years.

What and where would you hunt?

BTW - the genie is a creepy old man, not a hot blonde girl like on TV or in dreams. So remain focused.
I would want a high country elk hunt in the rockies, for the biggest oldest, most regal, legendary bull up there, and I would want it to be a quiet cool partly cloudy day in mid November, some where close to my birthday, I would want to have seen and chased this bull for 3 or 4 years in a row and have nothing on my mind but putting my tag on him. I would hope that I could find him on the last day of the season, above timberline, old AF, teeth worn down to a nub, horns broke off from fighting, legs worn out from living, and just plain tired as tired can be. Somewhat like me! I would hope to catch him off guard in a moment where it was a complete surprise to him , lift up my old faithful Remington 700 , 7mm magnum , that Ive used for 30 years or more put the crosshairs right on his heart, and at that moment right before I pull the trigger, I would want him to look my way , so I could see his face in the scope, then just lower my rifle and let him walk away. I think that would be a nice way to end it all.

That way he could starve to death the next winter

Since it’s a hot topic: Wade Lemon Mexico all inclusive Coues, Mule Deer, Desert Bighorn

And haters go…. ?

A High Rack, heavily baited SCI themed MX Javelina hunt would Steele be a dream trip. Would need plenty of full size spares and of a Yeti 110 loaded with LeMon White Claws to keep the squad hydrated. Maybe tag out early and squeeze some time to smash some doves and hit the Hermosillo massage establishments.

I'd get in that car from "Back to the Future" and pedal it backwards as fast as I could. My dad has been dead for 36 years. I'd make that genie give me one more hunt with my dad. Mule deer of course. If the Henry Mountains hadn't been hunted for 5 years, I'd bet we might find a couple there. Or maybe Antelope Island. Wouldn't matter much if we were together.

My last hunt…..I’d just want to hunt with family. Head up to elk camp and enjoy each others company. No pressure to kill anything, just wrap up the final scene of my hunting career with the ones I love, in a place I love.

You pick the hunt I don't care what it is... as long as it's 10 days of bad weather and I'm stuck in a two person tent with Eva Shockey.

In all seriousness, I would choose an archery brown bear hunt.

I would hunt for Ocellated Turkey, deep in the Mexican jungles of Quintanna Roo on the Yucatan Peninsula !!
Redbluff,

That ocellated turkey is a really neat/fun hunt if you ever get around to doing it. Here is the bird I killed back in 2006 when I was in high school. One of the cooler hunts and experiences I've ever been able to be a part of. Spent all year saving money to pay for half of the trip. One of the best memories I have with my dad.

Now it hangs in my office all these years later.
