Always wanted to try mormon crickets for catfish bait. Just never got around to catching them when they are big. As for eating maybe in a survival situation but not on regular basis. Some of the most nasty parasites find their way on or in them waiting for a new host to consume it.

Never got around to catching the crickets. Might try to catch some this year. Hard to stay still out turkey hunting when you have these things crawling up the inside of your pantlegs and down your shirt collar.

I've eaten bugs. They taste horrible. The only people that eat bugs are close to starvation. Nobody chooses bugs to eat. The worst meat you can eat gets consumed before bugs. There is a reason for that.

Whoever is telling you that you should eat bugs has an ulterior motive for doing so and they have no plan to consume them themselves.
