I seen somewhere on here last week,Ryan went to court.Does anyone have any info on this?Im not sure if it was a Utah trial, or Arizonia.

Hatch and Hamberlin were sentenced last week on the jury trial felony conviction. This was the Utah case. The Arizona charges are set for a review on the 22 and there is a non jury trial date set in april but I dont know how that one is moving forward yet. They asked for some softer sentencing but the judge stuck to the book on most of it. No jail time, 1000 fine each, 8000 restitution each, 50 hours community service each, and think it was like 3 years probation revisited in 18 months. The antler location is now a mystery again. Prosecutor asked them to be turned over to the state but the defendeant claimed the antlers were stolen from his back yard. If they turn up he has to forfeit them. The felony limits firearm ownership but court said no to all hunting and guiding and they must abide by whatever the wildlife board does as far a hunting privilege revocations are reccommend. The felony conviction could impact businesses interests of the guilty parties. It appears they plan on appealing the case.

The antlers will probably show up in a few years as a nice mount on one of those guys walls maybe not even that long

I'm like you bucks I like Ryan I've done business with him, he's a very knowledgeable guy when it comes to mule deer hunting, and he had one of the best magazines in the country out there if you're a mule deer Hunter and I know him and his wife worked hard to make it successful.. So all I can say is why, why would you take a chance at throwing all that away for a deer..on top of that I know both he and hamblin have killed better bucks than than the one they popped down there, so all I can say is WHY..it don't make any sense to me

I like Ryan too (I'm pretty sure he doesn't know me from Adam) but like you said, bucks, "play with fire, get burned".

Everyone can have a lapse in judgement (they shouldn't but they do) but the pattern with them (him) is undeniable and all for a puffy ego and financial gain!

Seems like all my has-been mule deer heroes have bucks taken under nefarious conditions!

Way too sad that it's come to this in the hunting world.

All I can say, when this is all behind him, I hope he can get enough support from sportsmen to start the Muley Crazy Magazine again. Can't hunt, can't have a gun for a while, can't guide. but what he can do is put out a heck of a magazine. Hope to see it again.

HaHa, seems he can't stay focused on the right path when it comes to deer. Maybe a different job field would reduce the chance of more Lawyer fees. There's a lot of great guys out there that can't overcome their weaknesses!

Look at all these angels bad mouthing hatch. I would wager you’ve all broke the law at some point on purpose. I mean who hasn’t killed a buck and dragged it across state lines? The adrenaline rush is like no other!

If that’s not living I don’t want to be alive!

There is no chance I’m spending one penny to support a guy that knowingly and willfully cheated another hunter out of a buck for money.

The question is this just a “little lapse in judgment” or a pattern? Being as this is not his first conviction, I think it’s safe to say there are other incidents out there.

He helped kill a deer in a different state than their tag allowed. This isn’t a “you shot 5 minutes before legal shooting time.” They hunted a different state, knew it, then lied about it.

I’m not supporting anyone that does that crap. He made his bed, now he gets to lie in it. (No pun intended.)

I don’t buy for one second this just a little mistake. This was willful and intentional. And that has been proven beyond a responsible doubt by a jury of his peers. And that is not the first time.

I have had a couple of experiences with Ryan and they haven't been pleasant, but I will not be the one to cast the first stone. Being older I can remember when party hunting was the Norm even though it was not legal at that time. ---- Then there was the time that %^&*() and the time when @#$%&$(). We didn't think give it a second thought, but it certainly wasn't for money and there were deer everywhere. I would purchase his magazine if it were the same quality as his previous Muley Crazy Magazine.

And --- I have a friend who never breaks the law one early morning after we had filled our ML deer tags shoot at a giant buck. I looked at him and ask what are you doing? That was a B&C buck and I just couldn't resist. That was years ago and I have never, ever seen him break the law before or since.

I just remember when he openly opposed deer tag increases several years ago, and his quote was (in all CAPS so bessy can appropriate this for sure) “DO YOU WANT MORE HUNTERS OUT THERE OR LESS?” I want more! But I’m not a selfish (insert whatever pejorative you want here).

He’s in it for himself, not the good of the herds, the good of hunters, or anything else. And when you willfully and intentionally hunt deer in Utah when your tag is for Arizona, that just shows how selfish of a person he is.

I’m not throwing stones, that’s for the judge and DWR to do at this point with his sentence and other penalties that are coming. But I for dang sure am not going to financially support a repeated convicted poacher so he can continue to act in his selfish, unlawful ways.

I feel bad for the innocent people he hurt in the process, but my sympathy for his situation ends there. He brought all this about by his own purposeful acts. Now he has to pay the piper.

Now You're Dragging Me In To This?

NICE!

Birds of a feather. Yip that is what I say. How many of you pay your Use/Sales Tax on the things you order on the internet where you are not charged sales tax. By not paying your use tax, you hurt everyone else's pocket book. My guess, most of us are prostitutes and now we just need to determine too what extent. When this is done and he pays his restitution in time and money, looses his hunting and guiding privileges. Do we continue to condemn him, and for how long. You guys need to get out of the hills once in a while and go to church.

My “birds of a feather” comment is just busting Bessy’s balls a little bit due to his anti-hunter ways.

But if you’re intent on justifying what Hatch did in this case, then we don’t have a lot of common ground to reach here. I’m not interested in excuses about his behavior because someone else sped on the road at one time in their life.

I don't think anyone is trying to justify Ryans bad judgments,
I think that a lot of people replying to the post are only stating that he is a good guy,Fun to be around, and had one he'll of a MAGIAZINE ,Its just to bad that he gave in to mule deer obsession.
