What did you apply for?

Deer for one son with high chance of drawing a 3rd season tag. Preference points for the other 4 of us for deer and preference points for all five of us on elk and antelope. I know, kind of boring.

I'm not gonna say until I know damn well the CPW isn't going to reopen the draw for the folks that tried to put in at 7:59 last night. I'm fairly confident that cost me a tag in '21 and I'm still bitter about it:LOL:.
Drives me nuts... the amount of people who have a sob story about the website crashing at the last minute is unreal to me. And they're all convinced that the website is the problem :ROFLMAO: the best way I have found to respond is simply "that's weird... the website was working just fine 3 weeks ago"

Boss at work showed me his list of tags to put in for Yesterday… fast forward to 11pm, we are on a call and he is mother F’in himself since he tried to put in a 10pm & they close at 8…. Poor fella I told him to apply about 8 times the last 3 weeks

Bull elk burned points on a hopeful muzzy hunt, would be a lock with 8 points last year but who knows? trash unit deer tag, but that’s mostly for kicks and grins. points for all the other critters

Chasing the best draw odds for sheep, moose, goat and hybrid elk. Points for deer and pronghorn.

January RFW cow hunt for my youngest son since that's when he turns 12. Points only for my oldest son. Then we'll play the secondary draw game.

I plan on buying myself a voucher for deer.

For deer my sons and I each put in for tags we won't draw unless the world stops spinning.
We just did points for elk since I already have an AZ archery tag that is taking our September time.

I won't name the units, but My dad should draw a muzzy mule deer tag (with +3 points) and possibly a 1st rifle elk (with +1 point). I'm planning to just go help him on these hunts. I applied for hunts I shouldn't draw, but it's funner to think I have a chance instead of just putting in for preference points. I applied for an archery elk tag with 8 points that took 9 last year. Applied for archery deer where my dad should draw his Muzzy tag. And applied for a rifle bear tag in the same unit with 0 points and required 1-2 points last year. Good luck to everyone in the draws!

When they start point sharing grab a buddy and go hunt together. Me. I will be your buddy.

Bought myself and 12 year old boy deer points.
Haha...I'm literally kicking myself for waiting so long. How's the winter wearing on you? You moved to Wyoming if I remember?

Yes I moved here 4 years ago. 3 now in Casper. Obviously everyone knows we are getting hammered the last few days. It might be the end of May before we can bait bears!

I hadn't seen where they've said that. Is there a link I can catch up on it?
I think they only emailed a select group to discuss point sharing with CPW. Here's where it's discussed on this forum:

Just points this year. Waiting for my son to be able to make a hunt with me. His twin baby girls are keeping him home their year . Also have hunt dates in other states that conflict, although I probably won’t draw them.

The usual.
Bull elk is OTC as we lease some private land as the bulls are usually quite a bit bigger than my public land hunts and my public land pack trip has had a few of the older guys drop out for physical reasons.

Cow elk - hopefully still pick up a leftover/reissue tag for 1st Rifle as I have been horse packing in the same camp/area for 45 years. This is my favorite hunt and camping adventure.

Deer preference point to see what happens with winterkill and trying to catch up with a buddy so we can hunt together on a quality tag and unit that I know well.

Moose - Pipe dream as I have 1 point less than the max

Bighorn Sheep - Hoping to draw my 2nd ram tag and screw over someone whom might never get one because of the lucky greedy hunters like me.

Mtn Goat - somewhere near the top of the weighted point holders. Put in for late Sept hunt.

Antelope - Preference point and usually pick up a leftover/reissue for the area around my home since it is mostly private and tags usually get returned.

Good luck everyone and I am one of those guys whom applies shortly after the application opens up ----So I can quit thinking about it and move on with life, otherwise I mind f-it over and over.

What a brutal winter indeed! I imagine the bears will have plenty of carcasses to feed on.

Put myself and 3 brothers in for sheep?and deer, we are guaranteed tags for 2nd,3rd and a 4th season in the same unit, and of course I will have the 4th season tag? we have taken some good muleys but we are just gonna have some fun!

Bull Moose....again 38th time...first year they gave 2 tags was 1985...in the fly hitting the widow expecting a different result!!!

Points for deer and elk, in for sheep and moose with lots of points!
Thought about using my 14 deer points till winter reports started coming in.

Put in for my usual third season deer unit. For elk took a flyer on a High Point unit hoping a few of the people with mega points don’t put in because of the winter kill.

If I was a high point holder I would have still held the coarse as you can always turn your tag back in later this summer and after a few scouting trips.

A point for elk, deer , and antelope. Burned my points for deer and antelope the last two years, I’ll have 24 elk points going into next years draw.

40 muzzy elk with 25 NR points.

Also in for moose & sheep and just points for deer and antelope…

Good luck everyone!

Desert sheep- got a better chance of being struck by lightning than drawing .
Moose- 23 points, 1 % draw odds again better odds of being struck by lightning.
Already drew and harvested Rocky Bighorn, and a Mountain Goat, can’t complain Colorado’s been good to me. But in todays age of drawing tags I do feel bad for max point holders who may never draw the tag of their dreams. Im thinking about booking a Ol Mexico Desert sheep hunt for 2024, had knee replacement in late November and am thinking I still have one more sheep hunt left in my 68 year old body. Already hitting gym daily and walking treadmill. Dall sheep has been on my bucket list but I waited prob 8 years to long, you younger hunters better fill those dreams befor your knees go.

Working on it! Making the hard to do (physically and financially) bucket list hunts at the top with the others waiting tell I get older. Went after my dall last year, I’m so glad I did, now on to the next one!
