Would travel be to far to use a motel for elk hunting in unit 17? My daughter drew the youth muzz hunt, and deciding whether to camp with a tent or get a motel? What town would be best? Magdelena? Thanks
Exactly. And some of those roads are rough rough. If you have a camper, camp.
If not, it depends on which side and which end of the mountain you want to hunt. That could be a long drive on dirt roads, and it depends in part on how fast you drive on dirt roads.
I could probably help you out with the storage situation. It’s a great tag and like many have said you’d probably be better off staying in the hillsI will have a camp trailer down to unit 15 for the 2nd archery hunt, if I could find somewhere to store it for cheap, then I would leave it down there and pick it up on my way to 17 a few weeks later, but do not want to pull it down from Utah twice and especially for only a 4-5 day hunt. Thanks for all the info
Send me a PM if you still need help !I would rather camp, but do not enjoy pulling the trailer that far twice in 3 weeks. Bugle, if you could help me out with the storage situation, that would be awesome.
