OUCH!!!!! That would really hurt to hear that you drew a breaks tag and then get an "oh sorry we f'd up you don't get it" email from fish and game later.

I remember years ago here in South Dakota, EVERYONE who applied for sheep tags accidently got a "successful" email at the end of the day. (luckily I had checked my online account before the emails came out and knew it was incorrect). G&F didn't realize the mistake and send a correction email out until the next morning. I'm sure there were a lot of happy guys going to bed and counting sheep for at least one night - LOL

Yeah, they told 60 people they drew sheep tags, but now...whoops, sorry were taking those back!

Granted, a lot of them were ewe licenses, but still....

A routine audit could've avoided the whole mess.

I got archery elk HD 270 haven't been up there in about 15 years looking forward to a change of scenery from CO.
That unit was likely in the PW stages 15 years ago. Lot different now but a few elk have managed to survive by changing there habits.
Since Colorado introduced wolves, big game hunting is likely to go down hill like it did in Montana. What a shame.

There’s 1000’s of elk in unit 270. Their patterns have changed with large carnivores. They are not spread out and are more concentrated with larger herds in specific areas. They flock to places like the CB ranch with minimal pressure from predators 2 or 4 legged, but there is still plenty of public that will be holding elk, and some decent bulls to be had. Remember, it’s a draw “trophy” unit for Mulies, so if you have an elk/deer combo license, whitetails only in there. Hunt hard and enjoy! Take a fly rod if you’re in to that as well.

EXACTLY my thoughts and how I'm going to approach it! Fly fished it last year with a buddy and heading up next week to do it again. LOT of elk on the CB ranch for sure, but starting to let veterans and kids take 200+ cows each year.
