No hunting

Well gang I got the best gift ever before my Tuesday surgery. My great nephew Dane Robert came to see us (me and my family) that we haven’t seen in 8 or 9 years because of issues with his adopted father. Long story!
so it Kris my wife, Marlene Kris’ mom, Mary my mom,Kris’ brother Jr her dad Larry me and Dane! Ain’t he a stud? I asked him if he played football in high school he said you went out for it freshman year made Varsity then the day before they got the Varsity jerseys AJ Espenesa broke his arm in two during practice! AJ plays for the Buffalo Bills today was a 54th second round pick in the NFL draft! I said well not too many people can say they got their arm broke by a pro football player! Lol! Can you all tell how much I love him and how much I’ll bore you all with how great I think he is? Oh Danes is 6’3 or 6’4” maybe 150 lbs AJ was 6’6” 280 lbs in high school! I think he was a senior too. thank you dear Lord for this great gift today!

Hey Joe, I saw your post with the family pic a few days ago. Kool!

Then I saw an alert that you had posted again. I was scared to look...cause I thought it might be the video of the butt wiper in use! :) (Again, really not necessary!) Although in my mind I have a picture of one of those red, spongy things that you put in a drill to polish wheels. Be sure to keep it on low speed or you'll be flinging poop everywhere! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Glad your surgery was successful. Hope the recovery goes well.

You have to love our gang! Great pic Outdoor!

Joe
That's actually me on a back-country fishing trip in the Bob Marshall Wilderness. The only prop was my cup of coffee. The rifle is actually kept there when folks are in camp.

This is what we had to endure for 4 days -- Sunburst Lake just 'bursting' with big cuts. You can see them swimming 20 feet down.

OMG Not Another One!

And this picture was taken four days after the fall!

Now you can see all the white cloudy stuff at the bottom of my right hip joint I assume is arthritis. So after I read the report it’s off to see the Surgeon! I really don’t care about another surgery I just want it fixed as soon as I can!

FUN FUN FUN!
Maybe I’ll be in great shape come hunting season!

Dang, Joe, so sorry to here. You have had to deal with more then your share. Keep us posted and best of luck and get back in the saddle before fall.

Get better SOON Joe ! Get after it and be safe. BTW, I have the neck plate and a cage right above it. C- 5~ C-7 . I still have to get an Ablation about once a year and cold weather makes my neck hurt. We have plenty of cold weather here in the winter so I should move to Arizona.
I also had a couple compression Thoracic column fractures and got Kylhoplasty for them.
I've been working out for 7 weeks now and it is starting to show. Being careful not to push it is the biggest challenge.
Good luck and heal well Joe.

What does your radiologist say?

The joint margins in your right hip look really close.

Are you placing equal weight on both hips when the film was taken?

I haven‘t got the report yet, yes on the equal weight and yes the margins are so close on the right where the problem is I think it could have been brought on when I was healing and dealing with the lost of strength in my left leg.

Thanks everyone for your concerns and well wishes

I've heard of dudes telling pretty good stories rather than admitting there old lady beat their ass, but hip surgery is pretty extreme?

Good luck man, all surgery sucks

Darn Joe so sorry to see you got beat-up when you fell. My xrays look a lot like yours and I fear I might tip over at times. The pain is horrible.I got the hip injections twice and they just don't work for me. For some reason I am feeling a lot better so I am going turkey hunting in a couple of weeks. I am surprised at how the decision to has perked me up a lot. Had to buy a lot of new stuff as I had sold all of my old gear. Best wishes on your recovery...you can do it...you are a tough son-of-a gun !

Dang it Joe. Those bruises tell me you didn’t go down easy. Sure seems like it’s time to get those hips lined out.

Get’ter done boss!!!

Hossblur love it! Actually I had to read my post because I couldn’t remember if I put that in my post up front because I’ve been telling everyone that I got out of line and the Ole lady had to check me! Lol!

Dang your wife sure put a whooping on you, sure glad you was still able come with a good cover story. Better sleep with one eye open. LOL
Get well soon Or I will have to shoot your limit of birds

Well now I have issues with my right hip affecting the way I walk and causing me to trip and fall and it makes me walk like an old man! Which I’m not! LOL! So I started to research surgeons that do Hip Arthroscopy surgery. I had that type of surgery on my left knee a long time ago and was a piece of cake I think it’s called a Non-Invasion surgery! Here is a pic of me four days after falling on my face! Not a good look!

Forge ahead and God Bless Joe ! I'm doing better. Take your D3, Magnesium, Calcium and do your therapy.

Ima big drink of water, if ya have a few antelope points to share in Wyoming I'm willing to say ya got the the best of me in a slug fest. Best wishes to you!

Guess what I have to do next? Right hip replacement!
I just fell apart after all these years having nothing wrong!
I guess it was waiting to come all at once! LOL! Oh well

Thanks Buck I appreciate the good vibes! I heard that hip is a piece of cake compared to the other two surgeries I had

Sorry to hear Joe. You need to take a break from all the surgeries. Wishing you the best of luck.

Wife had total hip replacement 3 years ago and healed quick and is doing great. Brother-in-law just had knee replacement a couple months ago and has been on his roof the last 3 days helping us re-shingle his roof. He did awesome.

I've never had knee, hip, or back surgery, but from people I know that have, hip seems to be the easiest to recover from. Not that it is easy, but easier. Good luck Joe S.

Happy 4th of July all you Ridge Runners!

Hi all! Here is a Class Mate of mines younger brother name Mike he was with Maryville IL Police Department for quite awhile then I didn’t see him around fora while and then I seen that he started Code 3 Spices with another guy. I don’t know if he had some close calls or just the impact of that kind of job can have on you and yours so he decided he likes this more! Anyway check it out they have a bunch of different flavors and sauces I think now. I think it pretty cool that he’s giving back to his Brothers and First Responders!
I’ve never met a nicer guy or a harder worker turning his Brand into a Big Player in that Market I couldn't me more proud of him!
I tell him that every time I see him LOL!
I just finished these while writing this post so I figured I take a Quick Picture of Pork Steaks on the Traeger! Oh do you all know what Pork Steaks are!? the reason I asked is because Mrs Sikora’s families are from CA and they never heard of them before they moved to the Mid-West! I‘m Hungry!

You know how sometimes you don’t see the forest for the trees?
The medical people never told me the reason I was falling etc is because of a bad hip I was thinking it was caused by my left drop foot issue from the Cervical issues I have or had! So will the fixing of my right hip cure all my issues keeping me from hunting etc? That would be great!

Sure have Joe have them once a month or so of coarse I was born and raised in Iowa for my first 18 years and brought the liking for them with me to here in Utah for the last few decades and besides that pork is alot more economical than beef right now

We all just love them except Mrs Sikora she says their to fatty! She has a point but boy are they good!

Hey joe will you be able hunt in Nov.
That’s my game plan! If I can get my hip replacement done first it will make it even better says the Surgeon but there’s some good shooting at the other end of the field so I’m down!
Hey Gator send me a list of the things we’ll need to bring, what type shells etc etc and what are the dates if you have them already?

Gator I’m going to call and make an appointment with the Hip Guy tomorrow and tell him I want to do it asap! They say it’s a 4 or 5 week heal up so I should be good to go for a blocker this season!

Right Hip Replacement Surgery Complete
Been here since noon waited till after 4:00pm to have surgery.
In room around 6:30pm. Here in Hell since then! I have a hard time falling asleep even more now that I can’t lay on my right side.
The Nurse did get me more pain med to lessen the pain so I feel a little better!
Hope you and yours are safe at home this evening

Oh it’s 12:50am here in Central time

No hunting for me this season
Finally went to see a PA for a spine surgeon at Washington U in St. Louis Mo
1) Cervical Stenosis
2) Herniated Disks in the Lumber Region
3) Lumbar Stenosis
This started last May and it caused me to have trouble walking, numbness, loss of strength in legs etc
Then a week are so after that I started getting numbness in my upper torso and loss of strength in arms etc.
So anyway the PA said “yeah you should have came right away when this started” then I said “just put it back how it was before last May“!
So the surgeon office said I will have to wait till November or December for an appointment. Well I got put in the front of the line I guess. The PA asked what Surgeon I wanted, I said Dr Buchowski she said ok, then I said he‘s the best right
“well he’s my boss she says! So that’s good right?! LOL! Then she said something about two weeks, so I assume that means I’ll see him in a couple week then schedule surgery, something else I just found out Cervical Stenosis It causes problems with breathing so that Sucks! I noticed all last night I keep waking up out of breathe. Crazy Stuff. As long as it gets fixed I cool!

That’s a rough diagnosis man. I hope they can get you fixed back up & no complications from the surgery. Best of luck to you & I pray all goes well for you. ??

Mrs Sikora and I purchased a mattress in a box so it would be ready as soon as I returned home from hip surgery, OMG its awesome!
It’s the MemberMark Premier brand you can get at Sam’s which was on sale for $499.99. Guy’s it‘s firm yet soft and I’ve never slept better In quite a while.
Also if for any reason a month or year later it starts to fail take it back and get a new one or money back to purchase another brand. It doesn’t get any better than that!

Right hip replacement 2 months ago and I still have twitch in my giddy up. The surgeon said the socket has moved a little. So more PT come back in a month 8/10 my left hip surgery is scheduled 8/4 I told them I need to wait and get the right one right first. So I talked to the scheduling nurse today I asked her to move me as far as she can down the list because I haven’t hunted in quite a while. We‘ll see! The Surgeon I had is the end all be all in this type surgery. He said it happens every now and then buy is very rare. Damn just my luck. I thought I had an infection but No……

Sorry to he4ar that Joe. My BIL had hip surgery and the mesh they put in got an infection and they had to go back in and clean it all out. Not good. I would hi8ghly suggest getting the first hip dialed in and performing as it should before doing the other. Imagine having both hips having a twitch. You'll never hunt again. Good luck!!

I wish you well Joe. You will have a lot of atrophy but just have to slowly get back in shape. I have had cancer twice- (Thyroidectomy, Prostectomy) rebuilt Acronium/Clavicle in shoulder, one big Lipoma removal, Inspire surgery to treat Sleep Apnea, Gall Bladder Removal, Neuroma between two toes removed, Bone Cement in two Thoracic vertebrae , and a plate and a cage in my neck from an ATV accident etc.
It has slowed me down from being in shape many years so I didn't hunt like I should have. Now I have a tag with a chance for a big buck and have lost 11 lbs of the 35 I need to this year.
You got this big guy !
One thing I only took pain meds immediately after surgeries and didn't get refills or seek them for long term at a pain clinic. One Aleve and two Tylenol a time or two every week and the rest of the time I suck it up and smile. What you are going through now is tenfold of any single of my surgeries though.
Nice to see your post op smile Joe ! Be careful and follow physical therapy to a T.
